I think we need more women at the games.

Crew T-shirt nights. 12 bucks for a Crew T-shirt (Black with big log0 on the back and small Crew on the front, please). Do it as a Crew/Nats logo for the double header (?) in July. That way season ticket holders get a perc and newbies get a momento!

    Wadda ya think Pancho?

I think they should bring in the OSU football team and the band to honor them for thier national championship for the second game against the Metros. They could call it "From One National Champion to Another."

Here's the reason, the second home game at CCS has always seen a huge drop in attendence from the opening game. Last year especially. I think there was like 18K for the opening game against the F*re and then 8K for the game against the Metros; a 10K drop off. The big reason for that was the cold weather and the way things are now there's no gaurentee that the weather is going to be any better, even in late April. Now, Columbus loves the Crew, but they are crazy for OSU football and their presence would fill the stadium for a match that is on national tv. Plus the band could really add some atmosphere into CCS.

We always get good numbers for the opening game and I'm hoping for a sell out, but wouldn't it be great to start the season with two sell outs. From there we could keep the train rolling if the Crew are succesful on the pitch. Just think what CCS would be after two sellouts and the Crew are undefeated or have only one lose coming into their third game of the season. Columbus loves winners and if they Crew bring it the fans will bring themselves.

While I understand your reasoning, myshap, I hope your suggestion doesn't happen. Although I'm a pretty big OSU fan I'm getting sick of all the congratulations, honoring, etc. However, if inviting the national champions brought forth some extra fans I guess I wouldn't complain too much.

[Andy - if you reply, keep the rant short, man.]

I understand what your saying and I know this is Crew Sacrilege to suggest something other then good soccer is going to bring people in, but OSU football fans go anywhere for a chance to meet and greet those players. It would be a big boost to attendence, in a position on the schedule that has historically been a drop off in attendence. Who cares why we bring them there, so long as they bring attendence. I'm saying use OSU football as a bigger bobblehead doll or Buck-a-Brat night. Kind of a $20Bucks-a-Buckeye day.

    Ok. Short rant it is.

    [rant]

The Buckeyes have already had 3,263 "congrats" celebrations already for their championship win. Sometime, you just have to turn the friggin page. However, that concept of "getting over stuff" is alien to most people in BuckeyeNation™

    [/rant]

With that said, anything that drives traffic into CCS and puts money into the coffers is a good thing. I just hope that whatever they have planned, is short and sweet, and I don't hear any Buckeye chants during the run of play of the actual soccer game.

    Thank you for listening.

We could have the "nickel-a-shot" night... although the chances of it quickly eclipsing the 1974 Cleveland riot would be very high....

On the plus side, it could end up here:
    Famous Ohio Riots
