I've been hearing good things about this kid... it's good to see that he's is recovering well from the torn ligaments he suffered. Next month he can apparently stop occupying a foreigner slot after having spent nearly 3 years in our youth divisions and is expected to be offered his first professional contract.

Who knows, maybe Borre leaves and this kid gets promoted and becomes our next Colombian forward (although we do have several other young forwards he'll compete with)

16-year-old Samir Steven Torres signs with River after supposedly impressing Gallardo

Camilo Zuñiga had kind words to say about the kid:

On a side note, Londoño Bedoya has been doing his thing for our reserves, scoring in the last 3 games — including the winning goal in the reserves superclasico

I honestly haven’t heard anything about him since Gallardo called him up for the first team for a few friendlies last year. Like Londoño Bedoya, he is ineligible to play for River in Primera due to there being no open foreigner slots. However, this summer he’ll reach 30 months in the club’s youth divisions and will therefore no longer have the foreigner obstacle impeding him (you count as a local player after that much time in the country as a youth)... maybe then he’ll be promoted to the first team and begin making his first professional moves, who knows.

The fact that he has stuck around in our youth divisions for so long and is represented by the same agent as Quintero and Carrascal makes me think it’s only a matter of time before he gets his chance. Plus, with Pinola and Maidana being grandpas + Rojas/Diaz/Martinez being very irregular, maybe he can win himself a spot if he shows consistency.

Yeison Guzman just had the top performance of anybody in Colombia this year. Two golazos and a magic assist.

Get this kid to a better team.

Londoño with a hat trick. And I wasn't aware of this other Colombian playing for River's reserves. Oswaldo Valencia is the #7 who scores the 4th goal. He'll turn 18 in a couple days.

Word is that Valencia kid is set for very big things. We’ll see what trajectory his career ends up taking, but for now they’re saying he’s a top prospect

Another 2 goals for Londoño Bedoya in reserves, and it's still barely the first half of the match. At this point, he now reaches 9 goals in 10 games -- making him not only the top-scorer of the team, but also of the entire Reserves Division.

Even more impressive is that between the last 3 games he has accumulated 6 goals.

It looks like the press and the fans have begun picking up on his performances, with many asking for him to get promoted to the first team squad. Hopefully he keeps it up!

Anyone else starting to grow more and more concerned by the lack of young established talent?

In the league, maybe a bit though I don't follow close enough to have an informed view.

At global view feels like we have a solid pipeline at most positions for next few years just with a lot of dudes in Arg, Belgium, Portugal, etc.

We have a lot of guys in their 29-30s though and the transition will be crucial.

It's a bit relative. In a way, I think things are looking on the up.

Our clubs in Libertadores and Sudamericana fielded these kids this week

    Junior - Fabian Angel 20
Santa Fe - Jhon Arias 23
America - Santiago Moreno, Luis Sanchez, Pablo Ortiz all 20
    Tolima - Jaminton Campaz 20
    Nacional - Yerson Mosquera 19
    Equidad - none

That's a GREAT crop of talented kids right there...but pretty much every other starter on those teams is above 25. That isn't good at all.

We've got a few kids playing abroad, but nothing crazy when you consider who acually plays key roles for their clubs:

    Luis Sinisterra 21
    Johan Carbonero 21
    Carlos Cuesta 21
    Jhon Lucumi 22
    Cucho 22

Alzate, Carrascal, and Agudelo only play here and there...but each of those guys are close to turning it around.

I think the true problem is that the NT has not been exposing these kids enough. None of them are unquestionable call ups, but the perceived lack of talent is partly because none of them are being integrated until they get to the point where they've become unquestionable.

Rueda is hopefully going to change that, and luckily he did call several of the local kids to the micro ciclo.

Yes - in the middle you have Daniel Munoz, jorman, Borre, Valoyes, Luis Diaz (among others) at 24-25 who we need to bridge and take the next step as the bulk of our squad who are turning 30 this year age out in a few years.

We´re seeing an good amount of youth players getting 1st team playing time in both divisions of FPC, it may be due to COVID and the recession that has come from it but pretty much every team has at least 2 or 3 U-23 starters week in week out.

Emerson Rodriguez, Santiago Moreno, Brayan Moreno, Johan Caballero, Kliver Moreno, Yerson Mosquera, Juan Moreno, Stiven Vega, Daniel Ruiz, Andres Colorado, Kevin Andrade, Kevin Castaño, Juan Carlos Diaz, Kevin Londoño, Juan David Mosquera, Joan Parra, Yilmar Celedon, Esneyder Mena, Arlex Hurtado, Alejandro Piedrahita, Bryan Castrillon, Alejandro Garcia.

Some may become good enough to be part of our NT, thing is you can't really be sure with players this age yet.

Campaz might be the best long distance threat Colombia has. He's up there with Cardona.

Diego Valoyes was quite poor in this match, btw.
