We usually don't start pre match threads till later in the week (see the FAQ) but I suspect DC will field pretty much the same lineup as this week. As for Chicago, watch the game today and that'll probably make things clearer.

They said last night Prideaux would be back. If it's my lineup to make I say

    Prideaux - right back
    Nelllie - center back
    Petke - center back
    Convey - left back

    Stewart - left wing
    Dema - D-mid
    Olsen - right wing
    MAE - center mid
    Q2 or Q1- center mid/withdrawn forward

Q1 or Esky - alone up top

I am still not sold on Convey at left back because we know he's going to want to get forward and I'm not sure if he's got the speed to get back at this point, especially against a team like Chicago with speed to burn in Beasley, Gray, et al.

How does anyone rate the chance of Q2 starting next weekend. I personally would like to see it b/c he'll energize the crowd and that will definitely help the rest of the team. And it seems like he's earned the chance.

If Prideaux is back, will he be fit enough to play a whole game?

That's what I was thinking too. While an extremely hard worker, he has missed the last 3 or so weeks which certainly won't help.

Personally I think if Prideaux plays, he goes the whole way. He's very athletic, and Hudson knows you don't put in defenders you'll have to sub off. Subs should be used on midfielders and attackers provided no one is injured. So, if we see Prideaux, we'll see him for the full 90.

It's hard to predict the lineup. We don't know whether Prideaux will play, which changes a lot. If he does, we could play a back three of him, Nelsen, and Petke, or a back four of Namoff, Nelsen, Petke, and Prideaux on the left.

    I'll hedge my bets...

    Without Prideaux:

    -------------- Rimando
    ------ Namoff Nelsen Petke
    Olsen Kovalenko Convey Quintanilla
    ------------ Etcheverry
    -------- Quaranta Stewart

    With Prideaux:

    ------------- Rimando
    ---- Prideaux Nelsen Petke
    Olsen Kovalenko Convey Quintanilla
    ------------ Etcheverry
    -------- Quaranta Stewart

    or

    ---------- Rimando
    Namoff Nelsen Petke Prideaux
    Olsen Kovalenko Stewart Convey
    ---------- Etcheverry
    ----------- Quaranta

I like this lineup a lot, though maybe one could switch Nellie with Petke- not a major change.

    1) Namoff here can both drop back to left back while still having some freedom to get into the attack several times in the game. I've always felt that he was more of a midfielder anyway, judging from the promise he showed two years ago. I'd even give him a good shot at nailing down this spot in the starting lineup even when all the injuried players come back IF Hudson would just play him here for several consecutive games.

    2) The combo of Etch and Convey, both in the middle would present opposing defenses with two different offensive styles at once: Etch's long game and Convey's short one. As we saw at the end of last season this combo jacked up our offense nicely and the two have now 3+ years of playing together and are thus more familiar than the Etch and Stewart combo vs KC which didn't really click.

    3) Better now to let Earnie roam on top and get some synergy with Q1. Although I want to see Alecko and Q2, and I'm interested in seeing Hristo make his debut next week, we really really really need to get some stability on our front line. Q2, Hristo, Alecko and ali should just be reserves for awhile (barring injury).
