anyone brave enough to take a stab what your favorite MLS team's starting lineup will look like when season gets going? I wish I could contribute myself, but I don't follow any one team close enough to make an informed guess. It should be fun now with that tool that bigsoccer added to create lineups
[LINEUP-4-4-2]Casey, Cummings, Clark, Larentowicz, Mastroeni, Smith, Palguta, Baudet, Moor, Kimura, Pickens[/LINEUP-4-4-2] This assumes Clark is healthy enough to start by opening day.
Other Revs fans can feel free to correct me but, [LINEUP-4-4-2] Jankauskas, Schilawski, Mansally, Joseph, Phelan, Nyassi, Gibbs, Osei, Barnes, Alston, Burpo[/LINEUP-4-4-2] This is of course very early and more signings are likely to come.
[LINEUP-4-4-2]Gerba, DeRo, Barret, Cronin, De Guzman, Peterson, Brennan, Attakora, Serioux, Wynne, Frei[/LINEUP-4-4-2] This is assuming Peterson will be fit come start of the season
Mosy likely this minus any additions: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Allsopp, Pontius, Castillo, Simms, Szetela, Quaranta, Wallace, Jakovic, James, Namoff, Perkins [/LINEUP-4-4-2]
[LINEUP-4-4-2]Edson, Alecko, Landon, Dema, Juninho, Birchall, AJ, Gregg B, Omar, Sean, Ricketts[/LINEUP-4-4-2]
Quakes: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Glen, Johnson, Convey, Luiz, Sanchez, Alvarez, Corrales, Hernandez, McDonald, Leitch, Cannon[/LINEUP-4-4-2] If Jason Hernandez is not done with ankle rehab, it'll be Burling. Gjertsen could certainly beat out Alvarez at r-mid.
[LINEUP-4-4-2]McBride, John, Pappa, Thorrington, Pause, Martinez, Król, Conde, Brown, Ward, Busch[/LINEUP-4-4-2] There has been some talk of possibly moving to a 3-5-2, but that isn't a formation option on bigsoccer. For those that don't know the newcomers are: Krzysztof Król (signed) Julio Martinez (signed) Collins John (apparently terms are agreed upon but subject to a face-to-face with Klopas)
San Jose Earthquakes: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Glen, Johnson, Convey, Moreira, Sanchez, Gjertsen, Corrales, McDonald, Hernandez, Leitch, Cannon[/LINEUP-4-4-2] This is only assuming that the Earthquakes don't bring in anyone else (though according to recent reports, they likely will) and that Jason Hernandez is back from his injury by opening day. -G
Pretty much the same as I already posted except you called Andre Luiz "Moreira" even though he doesn't go by that.
It now looks like the Earthquakes are close to signing Brazilian forward Eduardo Adelino da Silva, though I won't include him in the lineup yet until he officially signs. If anything, Moreira will now have a teammate to speak Portuguese with. -G
I agree with most of this, although I'm doubtful that Eskandarian can come back (and if he does, I don't expect him to last). I might also substitute Dunivant for AJ Delagarza. While Bruce likes AJ, he did start Dunivant in the MLS cup. The wildcard is Juninho and the other brazilians since no one has seen them play. A possiblity here is to move Birchall into the middle and put Mathis outside on the right.
thats true good point on esky i just wish he would play and AJ am just a big fan of i think he deserve a starting spot and i know Bruce wont take out sean
[LINEUP-4-4-2]Ljungberg, Montero, Zakuani, Evans, Alonso, Jaqua, Gonzalez, Hurtado, Marshall, Riley, Keller[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Sounders haven't made any off-season transactions so far and the line-up assumes that Ljungberg will be returning, which doesn't seem quite as likely as it did 24 hours ago.
New York's lineup could look something like this: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Angel, Kandji, Da Luz, Lindpere, Robinson, Richards, Miller, Ream, Petke, Hall, Condoul [/LINEUP-4-4-2] Of course, the team is going through a major shakeup right now, so who knows? The starting second forward position is really up in the air right now, I think, and central midfield will probably see a lot rotation.
