"Proprietors of female football clubs rose from a one-day meeting in Port Harcourt with a resolution not to play without a sponsor. The proprietors stated that they spend too much money without getting anything in return and demanded that the NFA find sponsors for the league or forget about it."

Falcons, U-23 Campings Dim Female League

    http://allafrica.com/stories/200305290312.html

"As the Super Falcons and the newly formed national U-23 female team intensify preparation for their respective international assignments, the national female league which got off the ground two weeks ago, faces a low profile.

The league which took to a flying start with most of the game's big names registering their presence in big ways, took a nose dive the following week as most the crowd pulling players were ordered to report for national assignment."

Couldn't find an article at AllAfrica.com for the beginning of the season. However, for those of you interested, kickoffnigeria.com is a great site for all of the news about the leagues, Falcons and the Super Falcons.

    Rough week?

    Yeah, long one, too.

That match against Nigeria was over three months ago....

Yeah, I thought he was just using an expression but you're right it was a long one then.
