so, first thing i noticed, whenever the draft went past 60 picks, LA was always had pick #69, draw your own conclusions.

other things, barring 2002, it seems we've always done well in the draft. sure, we did well for san jose in 2001 more than ourselves, but still, good picks.

what i like is looking at our combined 2003/2004 picks, the top 4 from last year all look to be a part of the team this year and if we get two from this years group as first team players, that's a strong youth movement. perhaps not as name heavy as dc united's youth squad. unlike dc, we didn't throw away half of our team to "rebuild" so the transition, should 6 2003/04 draftees make it, should be less jarring...

come to think of it, will 2004 be the end of first galaxy era? no cien, strong possibility no cobi, i bet tyrone will be gone, if the youngsters do well i wouldn't put money on seeing sasha or pete next year. moreno will have to prove he's worth as SI spot. lalas is gone, simon gone. just a thought.

Nice breakdown. With only a limited number of foreign slots, the majority of the squad needs to be build through the draft and especally in recent years, LA have done a good job there.
Sigi has 2 SI slots open right now and the players I've heard he's looking at could well make the type of impact Fish made. I can't see Sasha or Pete leaving soon. I think Moreno has one more season as a TI.
