It has been quiet. Still no word on where the next Loyalists meeting will be and if it will still happen on the 9th. (So much for expecting people to actually reply to emails....) ;)

There has been a little chatter in the other forum that was advertised here a week or so ago.

A email went out to all Loyalists that the supporters section has been finalized (for real, 30&32 again). The Nov.9 meeting is in doubt since the location is not decided (much to my sadness). Hopefully we can report some more info in the next few days.

Who can think about soccer when there's a few feet of powder and Brighton is already open?

I assume that nobody would want to go out to East Wendover, errrrr, Kearns/West Valley City for the Nov 9 meeting? I could check with the local library to see if we could use their meeting room.

Here's another idea: I've noticed that some Macey's grocery stores have "community rooms". Should I check with the one in West Jordan? Or do we want to have the meeting in the same time zone as a freeway?

Just imagine if Salt Lake made the playoffs this year....that would have been a good home field advantage with the snow and all!

Hi do you people actually like your non-sense name? As bad as the metrostars or earthquakes are, at least they made sense. REAL Salt Lake is just bad... Salt Lake FC is better than REAL. What does REAL stand for in RSL??

Certainly “REAL” does not stand for the same as REAL (royal) Madrid
You guys need a better name up there !

Good luck with the new team :)

Gosh, enough with the name bashing already. Why don't worry about your own crappy teams? Besides the names Metro"stars" and FC are just as clunky and just as meaningless.

I'm going to laugh my ass off when RSL lifts the cup before the Metro"stars" do.

Known in this part of the world as MetroScum, or, for the linguistically challenged, just Scum.

And to think, I was going to say that everything is quiet in our forum because all of the ReAL haters had finally grown up and moved on.

    Yet I was mistaken.

Consider the source. Ahh, the Metrotards... Always a couple weeks behind. I'm sure HE thought it was original. It's good to have teams and fans like that to help make us look better in our debut season.

Welcome to the Black Hole that is MLS. It takes huge amounts of energy for information to escape the gravitational pull of MLS HQ. It takes a supernova of information, such as the name and colors of an expansion club, to set this information free.

ReAL releases names and colors at press conference on left. One week later, there is no news ( image on the right).

Stay tuned for your next stellar event, the MLS Cup. Followed by the expansion draft and real draft. In the mentime, the BS Hot Stove league is rife with speculation.

is 1500 a very good number? i thought that to get a team there had to be more interest than 1500!!

Maybe when they announce a few players...it gets closer than 6 months away from the start of the season they will sell a few more??? Basically the team has had no news in a month, nobody knows who the players are going to be...still plenty of time for them to sell tickets. I think 1,500 is pretty good considering the lack of inormation on the team.

I agree. Let's not forget that the marketing department is still not completely up and running. They have yet to even really advertise the team at all. There have been a few times the team has been mentioned on the radio but word-of-mouth has pretty much been it. Even the open-house was hardly publicised before it happened. I think they're still trying to get their feet under them at this point. I expect we'll see a big push after the holidays.

News: team offices will move from South Temple to Trolley Square.

Arrangements for running a team that generally aren't seen by the fans are being made. For example, deals with a hotel for visiting teams. Rental cars deal for team business was done. With so many of the staff coming in from out of town that was an important thing. It may not show up next spring as "brand X, official rental car of RSL" but it happened. You asked for news.

Visit theloyalist.com and get entered in "The ReAL Challenge" game. Deadline is approaching. Scratch NE's Baker off your list.

They should really try to get that big push before the holidays.....Season ticket packages do make great gifts. Especially if you can have a package..buy half season plan and receive a Real Scarf and shirt? They should get the advertising and season ticket sales started before the holidays!

Here's a little news: Tim Hankinson fired from the Rapids. That's kind of a bummer, it would've been cool if he were Salt Lake's first coach. It would've kicked off the little so-called rocky mountain rivalry with some hint at a reason to be rivals at all. Hankinson won so many more games than the Rapids should have won this season, kind of like Sloan with the Jazz last year. Hankinson's strategy was boring, but very effective. How cool would that have been if he had come to Salt Lake and just tore it up in their first season? Rapids would have been pissed. Oh well, I guess Ellinger works, although it's tough to know anything about him since he's been coaching youngsters so long.

Although Hankinson won a decent amount of games, he created the best bunkerball team in MLS, completely boring soccer. I am so glad he is not part of RSL.
