San Jose takes on the Dynamo at San Luis Obispo, CA. The game is set to start at 3 pm CST. Houston is 2-0-1 in preseason so far and hasn't allowed a goal. San Jose opened their preseason campaign with a 3-2 win over Seattle Sounders FC on Friday in San Luis Obispo. No idea if there will be blogging or any other way to follow this game.
Look for this game to be a mugging by San Jose. I don't care anything about this game except that we walk out of it injury free. Yallop has made it a point to get his teams to be very physical (even back when he coached LA) when playing the Dynamo.
Yea, I was thinking the same thing, we've looked good in preseason before, but even at our best we haven't done too well against SJ. And we can't afford to get hurt with the Atlante game so close now.
I think I heard Stuart Holden will be the in-studio guest on the Fox Football Phone-In show tomorrow.
Thank you. I heard them say something about Stuie when they were talking about upcoming games, but I missed what they were talking about. Now there's even more to concentrate on tomorrow night than the two radio shows.
from MD: 30' - Kamara and Garcia have had more than one off-the-ball tussle so far. Anybody remember October 15? I guarantee Kei hasn't forgotten.
61' - Goal! San Jose takes a 1-0 lead as the Dynamo concede their first goal of the preseason. The Dynamo failed to clear a cross from the right, and Ryan Johnson heads across the face of goal for Cam Weaver to tap in from close range.
uh-oh 69' - Goal! 2-0 San Jose now. A long ball finds Ryan Johnson wide open on the left, and he carries into the box before blasting a left-footed shot past Tally Hall at the near post. Nasty finish from Johnson, his third goal of the tournament.
things go from bad to worse: 74' - Kamara red carded after a clumsy tackle to the back of the legs of Garcia. Looked like frustration more than anything malicious, and the color of the card was a big surprise. Should've been a yellow.
I find the whole Garcia/Kamara thing distasteful. I recall reading that it started when Garcia was offended by something petty when Kamara arived at SJ. Didn't think Kamara showed him enough respect or something stupid like that. He made Kei's life miserable because he could. Pure bully mentality. This impression was reinforced watching them last year. I just see what I perceive as bully BS from Garcia, and Kamara not really knowing how to handle it well. Someone needs to put a camara on Garcia in these games and just focus on him the whole time. I bet a record could be caught that gets the guy a long suspension.
I was thinking the same thing. That and the fact the SJ fans hate the guy, and he hasn't done anything wrong except step up a notch once he got out of California.
Ironically, Houston is leading 2-0 in red cards in preseason friendlies against San Jose (Ching last year and Special K this year).
Misconduct Summary: HOU - Eddie Robinson caution (reckless foul) 55; HOU - Kei Kamara ejection (reckless foul) 74; HOU - Bobby Boswell caution (reckless foul) 75. http://web.mlsnet.com/news/team_new...t_id=217996&vkey=news_sje&fext=.jsp&team=t110
You wrote "Holy crap, stay in your own forums". You meant "Holy crap, give us some more data to show that San Jose has been instructed by Yallop to 'mug' Houston". OK. Last year, the teams played three times. Here's the cumulative misconduct summary: Houston (SJ) fouls: 33 (19) yellow cards: 6 (3) red cards: 2 (0)
