Ivan playing in the center I wonder when Carlo will stop hating Zhirkov and actually give him a few decent run-outs at left-wing.
I wish we'd see Zhirkov there. Just play him somewhere more advanced than left center mid or left back.
Nice job L>G. Ivan in the center, nice. Midfield of Frank, Ess, and Mikel is something I hope we get to see quite a bit this season.
good job Lamps but make that damn Hamburg crest smaller no crest/badge should be bigger than ours damn it
The editing on this site is really shady. I shall try. Whenever I go to edit, I can't see the links to the images so I don't know how I would delete the Hamburg crest and make it a tad smaller.
decent line up, obviously missing a few pieces, aka Droggers and CB/RB. meaning a proper RB, meaning i would rather someone else than Paulo i mean maybe i missed it, but what's the deal with Bosingwa? Hopefully we look a little better tomorrow than Saturday. really looking forward to Sunday though.
He's still training to build up match endurance and strength in his knee. There's no need to rush an injury like that when we have someone like Ivanovic to "cover" at fullback. He will be playing by early September at the latest as long as there aren't any outstanding complications.
Community Shield on Sunday, then the league starts the weekend after that so, yes, this is the last one. Short pre-season for a lot of teams this year because of the WC. EDIT: fyi for the thread makers, GMT is not the local time in Germany.
Not true at this time of the year as The UK is on BST (GMT+1) and Germany is GMT+2 GMT is equivelent to UTC for you internet savy people. Anyway technicalities aside, Carlo has said that the team that starts this game will be the same team that starts on Sunday so this is really the forst game to judge the form of our starting lineup.
Great to see a little preview of our game plan against yanited, although itll give em a little tactical knowledge. We won em last year, and won the double, lets do it again. I think this is the real pre season test, we seem to have increased intensity in training. Hope we win both. Also i know Drogba may be out for the community shield, but does anyone know the what the Rooney situation, is he injured?? I seem to remember he was supposedly injured for last years game but ended up playing anyway.
Great also for all you est peoples 15 gmt = 11 est i have it open on chelsea tv online but it says "live event will begin shortly" maybe it does start at 12?!?! EDIT: sorry typed in 15, 16 = 12 my bad
lol sorry tyring to get as much work done as possible before kickoff and my brain is running 20 things at once. Stupid non recordable pre seasons, if they only knew what how i spend my time here
http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2111196,00.html Carlo Ancelotti has done as promised by naming a strong side for our final pre-season friendly of the summer against Hamburg, which debuts our new away kit. As suggested in yesterday's open training session, Didier Drogba is still not ready to start but is named among the subs, though Frank Lampard comes in from the off, and Branislav Ivanovic continues at centre-back alongside John Terry. Paulo Ferreira is at right-back with Ross Turnbull in goal. In attack it is the same trio that started against Frankfurt, Salomon Kalou on the right, Nicolas Anelka down the middle, and Florent Malouda on the left. The rest of the travelling squad is named on the bench. Chelsea will line up in the following 4-3-3 formation: Ross Turnbull Paulo Ferreira Branislav Ivanovic John Terry (c) Ashley Cole Michael Essien John Mikel Obi Frank Lampard Salomon Kalou Nicolas Anelka Florent Malouda Subs: Hilario, Sam Walker, Michael Mancienne, Ricardo Carvalho, Jeffrey Bruma, Patrick van Aanholt, Yury Zhirkov, Nemanja Matic, Yossi Benayoun, Josh McEachran, Gael Kakuta, Scott Sinclair, Didier Drogba, Fabio Borini.
