@Bill Archer - could you shed more light on your opinion on Mokhtar? I still feel I do not have a full opinion of him.

Opening odds had the Crew at +8000. One week later it was at +4000. Upset with myself that within that week (1-29 to 2-5) I didn't put down my $50. Bettors flocked to the Crew at the opening. Largest shorten.

If anyone has more experience thank I do could answer a few questions, I will be in Marietta for work tomorrow and would like to place a few duckets on the Crew winning it all. I know my FanDuel account won't allow me to bet on college fantasy games while in Ohio, but is that based on my account address of my physical location at the time of the bet?

I would definitely download an app if I knew I could just cross the bridge tomorrow after my appointment, place the bet and then drive home.

    Anyone know?

It should use your GPS in the phone to track your location and if in WV it will allow to place the bet. I believe you have to be in WV if you want to cash out said bet as well.

FanDuel has the Crew at +2900.

Not sure if that’s worth adding an hour to my day to try.

Gotta agree. At +8000 it was worth tossing a few bucks.

+2900 makes it not much of a value bet.

I texted the guy who makes bets for me in WV. He says he's not 100% but it's his understanding that they use the area where you signed up, not the area where you are at the moment.

And Id buy you and @CybrSlydr lunch at Marietta Brewing but I'll be in PBurg getting the airbags in my Jeep replaced.

I thought it might be that way, but you can make bets in person regardless of your residential address.

I might give it a shot.

I've found a few reputable online sports books. Going to do a bit more research and get back to y'all.

Except that there is no casino sports book in Parkersburg. The closest is, I think, Wheeling. Another hour away.

What I meant was the app might work based on GPS location based on the fact you can walk into a book and do it.

@CybrSlydr how close are you to the border?

There is a chance I will be in Cincinnati later in the week and may be able to make it to Lawrenceburg to place a bet in person.

Here's the MGM app geolocation guidelines. I would assume most digital apps are like this. Don't need to be from the state but must be physically in the state to bet.

That's probably what I'll go with. Can I fund it with a credit/debit card or does it need bank account info?

Thanks, wanted to reply to @billarcher's point on Mokhtar with my thoughts on why I agree with his 4th point above

"4) I know a lot of guys disagree but I still like Mokhtar. A lot."

Gives me the chance to reply to you both here.

I like him too. Just a good soccer player in general. Willing to work hard defensively. Receiving the ball 1v1 on the wing, immediately faces goal and looks to drive at his man. Nearly every time. Love that.

I actually still see him as a valid #10 for the second team.

I just like his basic skill set. Maybe too slow to be an elite winger.

Yeah i just don’t see him as a winger and i know Caleb wants a pocket winger on one side but i just don’t see value in production vrs salary . He does work well defensively and positions himself well and also like his skill set . But he seems a role player of the bench who takes a international spot and he doesn’t have a lot of potential to be a great player or even a starter . If he was younger and had potential it would make sense. I understand we need veterans who work hard and play the game the right way . But his contract and international spot don’t make sense maybe he has versatility that we don’t know about and could play a 8 role to back up Nagbe . However we haven’t seen it and if his production doesn’t increase you would think this is his last year here.
I like Etienne Jr better already. Give me the younger faster more talented American player who has potential and a cheaper contract any day .

True, but don't you have to place those "win the championship" bets before the season starts?

No. But if we win all games to that point, the odds will reflect that.
