Let the 2015 fun begin Whose coming in on trial? What is Sores status? Is there another DP on the pipeline? Will Heaps move Jones back with JoGo? Anything happening with our DP out on loan?
Yes, but he's on his way to Turkey where he'll play for Akhisar Belediyespor. Supposedly an MLS team reached out to him before he made his decision.
I wonder how many players from Sporting will be joining the Revs on trial during preseason? Reports Heaps and Burns are headed over shopping.
Are we so inept at acquiring players that our only hep is that we get a couple of Sporting cast offs who are not quite good enough for the Varsity? Or maybe the league will set us up with another blind draw. Other than those two methods, how are we going to bring in any new significant players who are better than what we have? Until we see otherwise, Jermaine Jones was a one-off, and when his contract expires next year he will be gone and no momentum to show for it.
I have no issue with looking at SCP's players. If we were hypothetically looking at a Porto or Benfica cast-off everybody would be pretty excited. Is it kind of lazy? I guess, but we'd be crazy not to explore bringing in a couple of players from SCP.
I think the Sporting partnership was a very smart move, if it results in a couple loanees, because I bet Burns know he sucks at signing international players.
As far as I can tell, very few of the 'partnerships' between MLS teams and bigger clubs have resulted in any kind of useful on-field benefits. If we can receive 1 or more starting caliber players from Sporting, then more power to the front office. That's just good business
Off to Arizona on Monday where I think they will be playing two practice games against MLS teams. We might just hear words about whose coming in to trial. Still no clues from Rev Central about possible major signing(s) but sounds like they do have international target(s) at least for Center Back but no word about any action to add a starting Forward.
Why? Can you score 15 goals in a single striker setup? You couldn't do worse than Bengston, and you probably wouldn't count as a DP.
DP = Designated Psychiatrist? Doc can make sure this team keeps its head in the game and drinks the optimal amount of koolaid.
Hey I may be 78 but I still "got game". Last summer in the NH Senior Olympics I won three Gold and Two Silvers. Unfortunately I'm nearly blind so if I was trying to play soccer I'd likely be an "owe goal" waiting to happen . That being said if offered I would gladly join the Rev staff to aid the players in dealing with all the fecal remarks thrown at them by some posters on the Board. Opps, here is my wife with my afternoon tumbler of Kool Aid
Every Board needs a good Shrink and some Boards like RedBalls and Fire need a full staff of Shrinks as well as some inpatient beds for the weekly emergencies.
