I don't know about anybody else, but I am pretty freakin' ecstatic that two of these guys found net. If they can contribute at least a handful apiece this season, we will be in better shape offensively than I hoped. (Of course, they were playing a U-17 team.....)

    About 30 yards out.

Not aimed directly at you, but I'm already tired of the Morsink bashing and the season hasn't even started. All any Wizards fan has seen from him is spot time in what may or may not have been his best position in his rookie year. In that time, he was singled out for praise by Bob Bradley, and Onalfo speaks highly of his potential to help this team.

I heard all the same knocks on Michael Bradley about making poor decisions and bungling passes, yet he was quietly picked up by Herenveen and got some caps "because his dad is the coach". Now people can't wait to tell him how great he is.

Morsink hasn't proved anything one way or the other, so I'm going to be trying to lift his play this season during the games with support, and I hope the people who have a feeling he's shite will too.

Kind of in this vein, I just thought I would let everyone know that after the Training Center tour on Saturday, we did confirm that the two pc's there in common area for the players to use have Big Soccer in the browser history....so the players do read Big Soccer....at least some of them do. We already knew Jimmy reads BS, but it appears that some of the others do as well.

    Just letting people know.

i was going to make a snide comment about this, but i've decided that i can't because it's actually sarcasm that i can appreciate.

i know you said that comment isn't aimed directly at me, but i've already said (don't remember if it was on here or not) that i'm giving morsink a clean slate this year.

If I had a paid subscription to BS right now.. I'd change my signature to "Jimmy is watching you."

    1) Are we looking at Andrew DiCicco as a possible signing or he is simply training with the team? He's obviously been good at finishing so far and we could really use that up top this year.

    2) Hmm, Team 1 looks like a possible starting 11 (minus Conrad), but ended up losing the scrimage 1-0. This says two things:
    a) Ehhhh, our first team need to get their butts in gear.
    b) Our developmental roster looks pretty solid, which is hopeful in the years to come.
    c) DiCicco can take on a professional team and still score.
    d) I can't count to two.

    3) No Victorine in the line-ups there, where is he at?

I believe he's a full on trialist, fighting for a roster spot.

he scored on a defense that consisted of leathers, hohlbein, and wahl. that's a combined three years of mls experience.

And if those lineups are any indication, 2/3rds of that defense will be our starting defense...

really? i'd take jack over any of those three. conrad is a lock. harrington and chance might have to find a spot on the backline with the competition so heavy on the midfield wings, too.

Normally in the 3-5-2 you basically play with 3 central defenders more or less, with your two wide mids having the responsibility to get up and down the line more to cover those wings more. Jack Michael and Chance are all wide defenders. And as I said, that was likely 2/3rds of our back line. Conrad is the other 3rd.

I could be totally off, but that's my understanding of the 3-5-2 and from the two lineups so far in the U-17 game and this one, it looks like the way Onalfo is looking to play.

If we play with 3 at the back I really hope Jewsbury and Harrington are played in the midfield and not as one of the back 3.

As for why that is Kuhn pretty much covered it.
