Of course, even if all the players had played the same average standard of opponent, their strike rates would not be decisive in determining who was the best player. There are some well known strikers who do not have 10 international goals. Well the BBC have him on 1 goal! RSSSF says he had 44 up to 10 Sep 03. Most of these goals were scored against lowly ranked oppostion. The all time international goalscorers chart is heavy with players from the weaker federations.
