Limiting spread is vital if this gets to spread freely the hospitals will be overloaded and more people will die. Spreading the cases over several months rather then getting one short high peak of infections is key to keeping number of deaths low.
About the season, Liverpool to be given the trophy is the season is cancelled. Report: Liverpool to Be Awarded EPL Title If Season Is Cancelled Due to COVID-19 https://bleacherreport.com/articles...-title-if-season-is-cancelled-due-to-covid-19
No Liverpool on the TV, so I decided to talk to the wife. To communicate better with her and understand her and her likes a little better. Apparently her favorite movie ever is something called “Titanic” and it won a shed load of Oscars last year, I think, but I really wasn’t listening too closely. I’m going to buy it for her when it comes out on DVD. See, guys? It’s the little things! You’re welcome.
I won’t lie - I have like 5 group texts all saying “I’m bored!” Or similar. On the flip side I’ve gotten my wife into watching Liverpool so that’s not an issue - but we’ve majorly started on spring cleaning - the sunroom and basement are done. Still leaves a good bit to get through the next 2 weeks.
Yeah we had our first student test positive in Ann Arbor on Wed. School shut down Thur and Fri, and we’re going to remote instruction on Mon. Everything is up in the air right now. Luckily I finished teaching about two weeks ago, but everyone is scrambling to figure out how to do this. Strange times...
Since I know we're all bored/depressed at home, this is a hilarious Twatter thread about a comic's Klopp fantasies... If I ever met Jurgen Klopp I’d say “omg if we have a baby we should call it Klipp” just so he’d raise an eyebrow at me and tell me I’m a moron and I’d be so naked by the time he’d finished doing that.— Laura Lexx (@lauralexx) March 13, 2020

Saw something on FB, so therefore it’s definitely true, that the FA in England have a rule in their by-laws (not 100% certain it applies to PL), that once a team completes 75% of its fixtures and then cannot complete the remainder of its schedule, then its points total after 75% completed is considered its season total. 28.5 is 75%. We’ve played 29; City, 28.

we'll have a vaccine for it, we'll have better treatment for it, and we'll see it as a thing of the past just like MERS, SARS, and Ebola - all temporary, scary health scares that we put behind us. More normal order should return in several weeks and in three months we'll get to a point where 'rona is an afterthought for the vast majority of the world.
this doesn’t seem to comport with what’s going on in the rest of the world though. And our woeful unpreparedness for it here in the US gives me little hope that it will just fade away (and as a scientist I’m usually optimistic that we will find a cure).
We'll have a vaccine in time but that's probably at least a year away. This virus seems much more wide spread than those others . Many countries are experiencing community spread which makes it much harder to control. The US may struggle even more due to having a fragmented health system with many independent hospitals making it more difficult to coordinate than national health systems. This virus has a 1-2% mortality rate so imagine if a third of Americans get it. I'm certainly concerned , mid 60's with underlying condition of mild asthma . I'm pretty much self isolating as much as possible. I think the next few weeks are going to be very important as to how this goes.
When the notice first came, I went to Costco and bought 20 days worth of pasta and a 12# bag of organic short grain brown rice. We just ordered two pounds of garbanzo beans from Amazon that will be delivered in two weeks. The challenge will be going without fresh veggies, since we normally have a big salad with various kinds of beans for dinner. We have soup for 12 lunches and the capacity to make some more with canned beans (Great Northern and the rice.) I'll be driving the cars for a few minutes a couple of times a week. Netflix is our friend.
So euro has been moved to 2021. But UEFA never going to lose any money will ask european clubs to compensate them for the cost of moving the Euro
Captain Renault: I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here! [a croupier hands Renault a pile of money] Croupier: Your winnings, sir. Captain Renault: [sotto voce] Oh, thank you very much.

If ever there was a format guaranteed to spread infection and disease, Euro 2020 was it. I won't be hugely surprised to see some sort of rejigging of the multiple venues from Dublin to Moscow to Baku in the space of a month.
Premier League confirm that there will no games played until April 30 at the earliest. FA Board has agreed that the season can be "extended indefinitely" with the plan to complete the 2019/20 campaign when it's safe to do so . -James Pearce
