Kickoff: 3:00 PM Eastern, 20:00 UK
    Venue: Emirates Stadium, London
US TV: Peacock (or enjoy the Mecum Auto Auction on NBCSN instead -_-)

16 days from our last match. And Wenger wants these international breaks to be a month long! Arsene Out!

    Anyway, our opponent:

Destroyed in a fire in 1936, the Crystal Palace is now a parkland in London featuring weird dinosaur sculptures that students studying abroad get tricked into visiting, thinking they're going to see the building above. Not so much! My fiancee is still mad about that, because she missed out on a trip to Paris with her dad and grandpa to go see an eccentric field on the orders of her English professor. Big mistake, in hindsight.

Sorry, we have sport(s) to consider.

Arsenal welcome Crystal Palace Football Club, not the building, to the Emirates on Monday. For as fragile as the Palace defense (and sprinkler system) seems, Arsenal's recent record against them is pretty poor - just 1 win from the last 6, and none at home since January 2018.

Palace sit 14th in the Premier League with 1 win from their opening 7 matches, that one win being a delightful 3-0 win against a club from North London that I've somehow never heard of, but that I'm sure Patrick Vieira was very excited to play against.

The players on Palace are all the ones you know - very little has changed besides the addition of long-rumored Arsenal target Odsonne Edouard, who may lead the line. Zaha will be there to do some cool stuff but pale in comparison to Pepe. The usual.

Hey as long as those month long international breaks happened at the end of the season, I would be all for it.

Must win. Need to keep banking wins especially with tricky games against Villa 5 or so days later, then Leicester, then Watford, and then Liverpool.

Seems like we didn't cop any injuries on international duty.

So I am going with a 3-1 win against Crystal Meth.

Ah, so much in that nice opening post! Sorry about your GF's bum steer, but let's keep this thread pure OK?, i.e. no more stray comments about Wenger and bi-annual WC's... that topic is reserved for the Silent Stan thread. :p

Anyway my only thought/memory at this particular time about this fixture is this...

so, apparently, martinelli might have an injury that will have him miss this game.

and, when asked if he might go on loan, arteta says no. meh.

I DID have the good fortune to find (and download off of Vimeo) the entire unedited footage (originally uploaded onto Vimeo off of a Sky Sports live telecast but since taken down) from the free kick that resumed play til all the replays of that amazing Puskas Award-winning goal by Olivier Giroud. I wonder where he is now.

Anyhow, with regards to our match against Palace, I hate to do this to one of our Invincibles, but 3-1 to The Arsenal, sorry Patrick :(

Yeah It makes one wonder why he hasn’t been back?

Is there any sort of bad blood between Paddy and our management? Hard to imagine that, since there’s been a huge turnover since he was with us.

Ps. I’m gonna have to miss this one live I’m sorry to say. I’ll be on the road back from the New York City derby.

Had my days mixed up. Arsenal plays tomorrow. So I don’t have to miss anything! Bonus.

Ps. NYRB scored in the third minute and held out all the way for 1-0. Not the best game of Footy but I’ll take that tomorrow if it was offered.

The XI that mostly writes itself does so again.

One change from Brighton: Pepe in for Sambi, so Odegaard will drop into CM, ESR will push central.

Wilf Saha is out due to illness, so that could be a nice little break for us.

    COYG!!!!

p.s. Another nice break is that we get a top class commentary team tonight: Martin Tyler & Andy Townshend.

It should make Tomiyasu’s job a little easier.

Literally the only nit-pick I have is Cedric on the bench over Chambers...what's happened to Calum? He was playing every match at the end of last season.

Had to step away, but just caught back up. We're kinda bossin it. Wonderful goal. Equal measures of good: Tommy, Pepe, Auba. TBF he had the easiest job of the 3 with a virtual tap in.

Edit: I take that back. Upon viewing the replay, I'd say that Auba's finish was far from trivial. Takes a seasoned striker to connect after it came off GK's hand.

Partey should be fined a day's wages every time he pulls the trigger from 25+ yards. :ROFLMAO:

They just showed Edu and his daughter(?). She looked a bit bored. Perhaps she's the one who's social media posting during vacations has gotten papa in a bit of hot water with the fans?

I read a stat that he has had 35 shots this season, and only five have been on target.
