08' 0-0 France backpass to own arc top, almost expose ball, Georges blasts upfield. Delie rounds box top wide right, Kemme bumps her down and cedes a corner?
08' 0-0 France right ck, cleared away. Nécib shoots from 27m  bends wide left.

09' 0-0 Thomis down wide left to 5m, no power on cross, Peter clears.

It's the same situation as with Brazil - the nation's official crest includes stars for the men's WC victory(ies). So it's not a star added above the crest for the women's past victories, which of course they have none of so far - it's literally part of the crest because the FFF is that proud of their MWC victory.

As has been discussed elsewhere, the women are wearing the men's badge. Brasil have 5 stars, Germany have 3. I guess France have 1.

edit: ST has a better explanation.

11' 0-0 Šašić and Renard jump for a chip, Renard bumps her in the back.

12' 0-0 Germany fk at circle top box right, to Šašić at 13m centerline. Bouhaddi dives and punches, either gets ball or distracts Šašić so it bounces off her back. France clear ...

13' 0-0 Germany quick short pass to box top mid-left, almost a through-ball but Renard(?) clears. France siege at 25m right touch, fouled.

15' 0-0 Maier(?) taps 1-v-2 down wide right for Laudehr spinning past the 2, cross from 3m wide right to 6-top left post. Šašić stumble-heads with Popp in the way, pops just over left 90. They've been studying Wambach and Lloyd ;)

16' 0-0 Laudehr hooks Nécib or Majri down at circle top wide left? Foul, no card.

I just realized who the red is. The same chick from the England-Colombia match. She's not going to do much running/moving, if she can help it. SMH

I think Germany will win the battle of set pieces, but France will win the open play.

17' 0-0 Germany short-pass toward box top left rolls too far. It's a 2-v-2, looks like Leupolz + Mittag, both tightly marked, with Renard calmly dominating the box top line and the entry pass harmless. High pressure is nullifying Germany's runs?

18' 0-0 France right ck, short, backpass to box top right. Backpass behind circle back ...

The thing is Germany wears 2 which is what they've actually won for Women's. The men have won 4.

19' 0-0 Henry switches from circle back to Thomis at circle top right. Turn and go, she creeps to 23m mid-right, stutters -- then tries to drive through arc right, ball poked away easily. Speed is her game, dribbling not so much.

20' 0-0 Mittag(?) shoots from ~arc top box left, wide right.

20' 0-0 Delie offside up wide(?) left.

Yeah, Germany's official crest doesn't have any stars on it, so when the NTs play, the men add 4 stars above while the women add 2 stars above. Brazil and France are different in that they incorporate the MWC win(s) in the official national crest, so it's not quite appropriate for the women.

I just noticed that. I thought they were wearing 3. This is actually the first I've been able to see the Germany women play.
