    So..... Seriously, where is he?

When he left there was kind of a silver lining that he was moving on to bigger and better things, perhaps taking the Leicester job and coaching in the EPL. But he's not going to Leicester.. So, what is it then? There are no head coaching vacancies, the season starts this week, so what the heck is going on? If it's not the EPL, something else? But if that's the case, he said he was leaving for the highest level, in England? Is he part of a group that's trying to buy an EPL team? If so, that's kind of late to the game at this point isn't it? Wouldn't something of that nature be more certain for Preki to up and leave midseason on the chance that maybe a group he was part of could buy a team and he could be the head coach?

What makes it more frustrating is that he left us. If he left for some uncertainty or something falls through, this whole thing just sucks for Sac Republic to have that turnover in the middle of our season with the challenges we've been having.

    Seriously, where could he be?

    It is a mystery.

My assumption at this point is that Preki made a very stupid decision.

Of course I am not him and could be wrong but from what I heard, I don't think he was getting paid very much money in Sac. That is probably why he left.

Of course he wasn't being paid much, it's 3rd division US soccer. But leave the job for no pay? That's a stretch. He wanted to coach at a higher level, but as Knave said, it may be some weird situation Preki got himself into...

If his position fell through, what happens? Can't imagine him just coming back to Republic as that would be embarrassing... If he is indeed out there jobless, I would bet he's at the top of the list for many MLS teams that may be making a coaching change towards the end of the season...

I went a bit overboard yesterday on Twitter with the #WhereIsPreki hashtag, when Thomas Rognen was tweeting to me lay off because he needed some time with his family. If that was the case, why didn't he say that from the beginning. Then we would be putting his face on Waldo's body[emoji13]

I had a hunch all along that his quitting SAC was somehow connected to Milan Mandaric.

He was offered a 7 year contract from reports, and turned it down for the opportunity in England.

So basically he is part of a group ready to buy an English club and slated to be the coach with the switch? And they don't know which team in particular, just waiting around for whoever is for sale? Seems strange.

Glad to see Mandaric involved in owning a team again.

I'm not. I'm still pissed about that M-F'er trying to put a NASL team in Oakland when the Quakes of that era were struggling. Eff that guy.

LOL, yeah why he ever brought the Stompers to Oakland , I'll never know. Worse than that though, if he didn't sell that team to Tony Kovac in 1978, the Quakes will never have lost to Trevor Francis and the Detroit Express by a score of 10-0! :):):):)

    Still no sign of Preki?

Going from "I'm leaving Sac to coach at he highest level in England" to "I'm helping Mandaric decide on which club to invest in" sounds ridiculous. He knew what a mess he made in Sac and ran.

Oh well, it's all worked out better for us - at least the new guy got us into the playoffs - with the way things were going, Preki wouldn't have got us where we are. At best we'd playing away Saturday after just scraping 6th place.

Well, so much for that opportunity in Europe.

    Apparently.
