He's been practicing with the team for a while now, but hasn't really tested the ankle much. He hasn't been on the bench for any recent games either - he watched the July 3 match from a box in the stands. Based on his practice habits over the past few weeks, I'd say he's still a few more weeks away from being 100% ready for a game, because he still takes it very easy during practice and doesn't mix it up at all - he just sortof hangs back and makes simple passes. That said, he's improving and hopefully is back soon. Of course, I could be totally wrong and is starting on July 10....or doesn't play until September. Who knows. P.S. Good luck with your MLS Fantasy team
Anybody who knows Preki know if he wants to coach after he's done playing? If so, I'd love to see Preki stay here to do it. He could sit under Gansler for a couple years and then have Bob hand the team off. I'd love to see the system that Rado would run.
I don't see Preki as a coach. At least not a professional team coach. I can see him teaching the game, though. He had a lengthy interview at halftime with Glenn Davis and Marcelo Balboa on the HDNet broadcast. Said something about having trouble shooting with his left foot, but that he hoped to be playing soon. It'd be interesting to see Preki and Adu both sub in together at the end of the game next week.
The vacuum of all defense being sucked out of the stadium at the same time will be too much for the building structurally.
I think we're referring more to coaching a professional team. Like what Mo Johnston does for the Metros
I don't really see Preki having the patience to coach at the professional level. Clearly he has the desire to teach the game of soccer, with is club FC Rangers and his video Play Like Preki or whatever it's called. I just don't think he's the type of person who could deal with all the pressures of a professional team, or even if he could, I don't think we would want to.
