    Confirmed by MLS website.
    Venue still not known yet.
Assuming the venue is in the US, we will go MLS starters again?

More than likely it'll be UConn's Rentschler Field.

Why? And one more time why? Is there something else at Red Bull Arena that night?

Well, I hope we get a fair number of the core guys (Howard, Dolo, Boca, Donovan, Dempsey, Altidore, Bradley, etc) with some of the fringe guys JK has liked so far (Torres, Agudelo, Chandler, Edu, Shea) and also a fresh helping of some MLS/Mex guys we haven't seen yet (Feilhaber, DeMerit, Gomez, Gonzo, Marshall, John, Cameron, Davis, Convey) and also throw in a couple who got called but didn't play (Beasley, Adu, Pearce, Loyd?).

Save the Euro fringe guys for November. Though I think Bedoya may be an important exception. Johnson as well.

Come November, we get look at Mix, Gatt, Rolfe, Whitbread, Williams and some others.

UConn has a home game on 10/1 (and two home games in September), so the field should be in decent shape as long as those games are played in decent weather.

Not buying New Britain or Yale Bowl for a second.

Please tell me you're not talking about Eddie and his Johnson being called back in. Haven't we seen enough? Will someone please think about the children?

Hilarity. But yes, I can see Johnson and Gonzalez being called in for this one. Fabian Johnson is probably a definite.

Even if it's a FIFA date, I expect mostly Domestic/Mexican players for the Ecuador and Honduras friendlies. Maybe we will see Hamid or Hartman in goal?

I saw a clip from the USSOCCER website and from the short clip, Castillo doesn't look like he's going to make it and Johnson looks very nice. He moves more like an offensive player rather than a defensive one. Hot damn I liked what I saw.

It looks like Landon is going to be playing the withdrawn Forward and Johnson is going to take one of the wings. Holy shisnit, Ima liking what I'm seeing..

NYC would be great. DC would be great if they had a better venue.

RB Arena is seriously the best soccer stadium in the country, why the hell wouldn't they use it? It's a no brainer. If they take them down to filthydelphia, I'm gonna be pissed :p

Posted this in another forum, think I picked the wrong forum:mad:

Will it be Boston? Is it possible that the press or Ecuadorian FA got the two (New England/CT) confused?

That really wouldn't make sense, considering they just hosted the Spain game.

It also wouldn't make sense because after the Patriots tear up the pitch, you might as well be playing on the surface of the Moon.

    Re: USA vs Ecuador 10-11-11

LA is on a 12 day break during these two friendlies after an exhausting September. The timing works out for Omar and Landon to get game time due to that 12 day break, but they may look burnt.

There are some MLS games on 10/9 and some on 10/13 from what I vaguely remember... RSL (Beckerman), FCD (Shea, Loyd), Revs (Feilhabr) and Union (Adu) were definitely impacted.

It'll be judging who's in the playoffs time for MLS - which may impact player availability.

Didn't Landon have a hat trick the last time we played Ecuador?

The death of Landycakes, circa 2006-07 sometime?

Yes, he scored three against them in Tampa in March 2007 in a 3-1 US win -- oddly, he got one in the first minute and the other two were in back-to-back minutes.

    Re: USA vs Ecuador 10-11-11

Personally, I like RFK as a venue. (Of course, it is in my back yard) We have history there. Like my first USMNT game in 1999. A 1-0 win over Argentina. A 6-0 pounding of Panama in 04 and of course an ugly 3-2 loss to El Salvador in 2001. Lot's of others as well.

But besides that, it's a loud, loud stadium. If we get some fan support we can really give the team a lift. And the stadium doesn't get used for Futbol Americano so it will be in good shape and won't have all those annoying lines all over the place.
