    Nigeria - Ghana

    Tunisia - Cameroon

    Egypt - Angola

    Cote d'Ivoire - Guinea
    --------------------------
The epic battle is between Nigeria and Ghana...Ghana is on home soil and played well over three games, Nigeria have something to prove, and while we have had trouble scoring, have played steady defense...only one goal scored against in 3 matches. I see this one being VERY close...like 3-2...maybe even Penalty kicks. I refuse to make a pick here, since my team is playing.

Tunisia - Cameroon should be the next best match...I feel like Cameroon is the 'traditional powerhouse' that nobody is really talking about as much, even though they still have what it takes. I think the Egypt loss was a fluke. Tunisia seem to be very disciplined, so watch out for them too. Cameroon 2-1

Egypt - SHOULD roll over Angola, but Angola look like they won't go down without a fight. 1-0 Egypt, but I could see an upset for Angola.

Guinea - CIV...CIV is playing like a team bent on winning it all. When teams like Tunisia or Angola or Egypt seemed to play for a draw in their last group match, CIV still went out for blood against Mali. No disrespect to Guinea...2-0 CIV.

    What are your thoughts?

Angola seem to be improving vastly from year to year, not many would say that their appearance in Germany was a fluke now. They did seem to be a bit lightweight up front previously, but they seem to have solved that problem with Manucho. I think they could well upset Egypt.

ive monitered each team from the sidelines in Ghana, this is my predictions

very easily Nigeria has nohting to prove they go out in embarassment and will not be suprised if Vogts is fired because of the poor performance, they're only win is against Benin........Ghana is not Benin is a much better team and Essien and Muntari wil do what they do every game and make a defense look like fools easily 2-0 Ghana wins

Cameroon will lose to Tunisia because as we can see Eto'O can not do it all by himeself they played Sudan and Zambia who were again were teams that they sould've won against and this is Tunisia stronger squad then Egypt's but not better 3-1 Tunisia wins

Angola will pull the upset, they have momentum they are picking up better passes scoring on sight taking more shots starting to really look like the team that made the WC, they look hungry and Manucho looks great so hard fought battle but Angola win 2-1

Ivory Coast will blow past this team, i mean Guinea will go with a fight but it'll depend how much abuse the defense is gonna be able to cope with. hard very hard game, a veyr physical team is gonna show up for Guine hopefully and if so then they might win but for now i se ivory Coast barely wining suprisingly 1-0

I correctly picked 7 of the 8 quarterfinalists AND whether they'd finish first or second in the group (I had Senegal instead of Angola as 2D). So no reason to back away from the rest of my picks...

Ghana over Nigeria. Nigeria have struggled to score and Ghana are at home.

Ivory Coast over Guinea. Guinea are my team. I think they could've given them a run until Feindouno's suspension. Without him, they are toast.

Egypt over Angola. Though I think Angola will make this a good game.

Cameroon over Tunisia. Tunisia struggle outside of the Maghreb. Cameroon are on a roll.

I think only the Nigeria Ghana quarter final is not clearcut. I would be shocked if CIV, Egypt, and CAmeroon do not progress. Ghana is at home and currently playing better football, but Nigeria want to avenge the 4-1 loss last year, plus NIgerias defence is much better than Ghana's which has looked shaky at times. It will be a very tough match, I see it going to penalties.

I wouldnt count any team out to win the tournament although in my opinion Guinea probably slight outsiders. My pridictions is Ghana may edge through with match going to extra time. A 1 goal to separate match between Tunisia and Cameroon 50/50 though if i had to pick it would be Cameroon. I think Egypt may defeated Angola by 2-0. And in the last match a 3-0 victory to Ivory Coast.

    Hello,

I've to agree about Ivory Coast. They are playing really strong tournament, winning all so far. There is creativity, large ofensive potential etc. Guinea had some luck, they even can't defeat poor Namibia in their last game. Guinea have one big problem before this quarterfinal. They will be without their absolutelly leader Feindouno. Their danger in set pieces, creativity, ofensive potential, all will go down. As odds of 1,4 are too short, I recommend -1,25 AH for medium stakes. Good luck:)

Nigeria - Ghana: Save injury, Ghana's midfield will run circles around the Nigerian midfield. However it'll still be a close scoreline as the Eagles will fight with all their might to make it interesting. Any tactical slip-up for Ghana could be disasterous for their hopes. However Ghana's midfield should be able to absorb the Nigerian attacks. Muntari scores the winner 2-1 Ghana.

Tunisia - Cameroon: Tunishia's defence plays nervous at times and has a habit of committing unecessary mistakes at key moments. However, even Samuel Eto'o cannot save the Lions as they lose in extra time. 2-1 Tunisia

Egypt - Angola: Angola is a team worthy of respect. However, the Egyptians will lock in on Manucho to fustrate and keep him goalless in this match. With that in mind, Angola's impressive run finally comes to an end as their defense succumbs to the constant pressure from the Pharaoh's rapid fire counter attacks. 2-0 Egypt

Cote d'Ivoire - Guinea: CIV is a team of destiny right now. Their chemistry and team spirit could not be any stronger. The first 45 minutes will be tight as Guinea will come out energized and determined to compete and not give up any goals. But CIV pounces on a tired and over-worked Guinea team in the final 45 with a flurry of goals. 3-0 CIV

Its hard to think Nigeria can win with that moron Vogts in charge. I do however have a weird feeling that they might steal a goal on a counter attack and win those. I'm going for Ghana however.

Ivory Coast will easily finish off Guinea. Too much power/talent.

I have a feeling Angola is gonna steal this one over Egypt. Manucho and Flavio will cause problems.

    Cameroon over Tunisia.

    These are my predictions:

    Ghana 2-1 Nigeria
    CIV 2-0 Guinea
    Egypt 1-0 Angola
Tunisia 1-1 Cameroon (Tunisia wins the penalty shootouts)

    Good luck to all teams!:)

Nigeria has never had it this bad.Everybody writing them off. Too bad!

Well, I think the chance is 50-50 in the clash against Ghana. Sure, Eagles have been embarrassing us in Ghana, but there is a difference between a poor team and a team that is not clicking.Almost all Nigerian players are world class, they are not not clicking. That makes them unpredictable.Who knows, they can get their head in order against Ghana and showed the Nigerian colour.
In WC 2006 when France was struggling at the group stage, managing to baet Togo, I was telling my friend that, France was not a poor team, the players are not just gelling. When the players eventually got their rythm they almost won the cup, beating Brazil along the way.
So I think if Eagles click, they can beat Ghana, but if they still can't find their correct boots, then people's prophecy will definitely come true.
