    Matchweek 3 coming up...
    Transfer window ending soon...
    Time for predictions!

This looks like one of the most competitive prem tables, in terms of top 6 or 7, in a long while -- City & Arsenal should be there, and Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Newcastle, Spurs, and probably the likes of Villa and Brighton may feel that they should be pressing up against those European places.

Will Liverpool do it? Was the midfield rebuild good enough (not sure if we'll see another incoming before January) and will the back 5 options be enough?? Are LFC getting back into CL, yay or nay?

I like our chances, We shouldn't be shut out too often and our D should improve as we go along...as noted, there's City then everyone else.

The only prediction I feel confident in is that Chelsea are not going to be a top-6 side.

Liverpool (if we get a young DM and a CB in)
    Arsenal
    Newcastle

    Spuds to win FA Cup
    Arsenal to win League Cup

    Napoli to win CL
    We win the UEFA Cup
    Spuds win that other one

    Relegated:
Everton survive as there are (somehow) 3 teams worse than them.
Shef Utd, Luton, and Wolves all go down

    Promoted Clubs:
    Leicester
    Ipswich
    Coventry

Bayern fall prey to the Kane Kurse and finish the season pot-less

Wait, so Spuds are going to win not 1 but 2 pieces of silverware? That's some bold predictions, Cotton.

Not sure I'd even predict that one.
United look worse than Chelsea at this moment....

I think United will end up being fine; they have continuity of players and manager going for them; their issue is mostly 2 spots on the field screwing them up.

Chelsea is a collection of misfit toys and their current captain has been there for like 6 months. I don’t care how good of a manager Poch is, that’s a one-season job to just figure out how to fit it all together and that’s assuming they don’t continue buying players like someone on FIFA Career Mode

They've gotten rid of Kane, they'll win something.

    I object to this post.

    Shouldn't it be spelt L'Arse?

I'm not a big fan of predicting anything to do with footie (Sunday's result / events validates the sense in that :) )

but why make any predictions right now - while the window is still open, for us and our competitors?
would it not make sense to wait another week?

maybe even have predictions next week for year-end positions, progress in the Cups etc ... then do it again based on January signings / movements?

    Here we gooooooo.

    Prem:
    1. City -- no reason to pick anyone else, honestly
    2. Arsenal -- they don't have enough to really challenge, but clear 2nd best IMO
    3. Liverpool -- I do feel they have enough to get it together
    4. Man United -- they haven't looked good, but have gotten the needed results and I think Ten Hag is smart enough to utilize that squad just well enough
    5. Spurs -- could be 4th if injury luck goes their way and against others, seem to be fully bought in with Ange, no Europe... maybe this year's Newcastle?!?
    6. Chelsea -- Similar to United, have faith that Poch will figure it out with that monstrosity of a squad... but definitely out of a limb here, right now feels like they could finish 10th
    7. Newcastle -- I might be overreacting to their very tough start, could be top 4 maybe but I wonder how much their fall off happens with Howe, with CL scheduling, and with general post-CL achievement hangover

Would LOVE to have the balls to pick Brighton or over any of the above... but I simply don't. West Ham and Villa seem next-best, but need to see more from them.

    Relegated (pretty straightforward, I think):
    Sheffield United
    Luton
    Burnley

FA Cup: Arsenal find their form in their competition IMO.
    League Cup: City
Champions League: I'm sure Real Madrid and City will have something to say here. Again.
Europa League: Liverpool to the final, and hopefully win. Potential opponents, feels like Roma, Leverkusen, and honestly maybe Brighton could really do something here.

Top LFC scorer: Salah, 33 in all comps.
Top LFC helper: Probably gonna be Mo... 15 assists in all comps. Think Mac & Szobo could have a say here too.
    Best LFC new signing: Szobo.
Best LFC young player: I guess Gravenberch applies here? But if he doesn't, hopefully Bajcetic is healthy enough to impact.

    So close!

They really turned it around over the last couple months. Wonder what they will look like next season? Must be feeling decent about Poch now.

    Bold... but nailed it.

I think Chelski beat several teams that were more or less at the beach or terrible. Not sure they really turned it around at all. But maybe Boehly will try to spend another billion pounds and claim it's unfair they don't get a higher draft pick.
