Euro teams are certainly our best option for sharpening us. If we get to play Spain especially it will significantly help us.

better off finding a LB and better subs than hoping to jump 5 spots in the fifa ratings with 3 host teams. I mean Canada, US or Mexico being in our group would make us pretty much head of a group.

12 groups. We can't have Argentina or Brazil in our group so 30% chance of being in one of the host groups. Not even the Mexicans are crazy enough to think if they are in our group they are the real top seed

hope for a mixed team these games with a few new faces. We can lose all our friendlies it doesnt matter we are at the dance.

Colombian media has reported that the March friendlies will be against Croatia and Belgium. If we are drawn into the same WC group of either team then the friendly will be cancelled.

I do like the players being rumored to be called up other than Tesillo. With the Cabal rumor maybe Tesillo will be looked at as a possible Lucumi backup but that still makes me cringe.

If they don't win their group (unlikely since Norway has a 5 point cushion IIRC), and they're second in their group, they will be in the playoffs, where they were eliminated by Macedonia in 2022.

Tesillo may be a lock now that Cabal is out.

I am also hearing another player may be making his return.
    Juan Cuadrado.

I wonder if he is called if he will be experimented at LB or RB.

Thoughts on Kevin Serna? Competition for Hinestroza, Campaz and Sini?

Why not, if anything to prevent Peru from calling him up

Serna is very fast on counters and is decent crossing and passing the ball on the wings which is what we need.
Unfortunately he basically plays the same position as Diaz so he would be his backup if he does make the squad.
Maybe he can play left while Diaz plays false 9. That can be a deadly option on counters. But then Suarez would be left out of the lineup in that sorta formation.

    * Nestor trolling us with Borre

    * Vargas and Jhon Arias taking a breather?

    * would have liked to see Carrascal get some minutes here...maybe November?

    * Is Angulo / Roman really the best alternatives we have for RB / LB?

    * players who i would like to see get some real minutes: Yaser, Serna, Cucho

    * Mier should start and use these games to get confidence and put his recent mistakes in the rear view window.

    Miers last shot.

glad he didn’t call Arias needs to win his spot in England.

clearly looking for his 2nd goalie. Vargas is going to cup. Don’t get why he called up Ospina. He going to take him to WC

CBs are final unless we someone pops up in Europe.

back up RB and LBs need to be found. Is Fuentes not playing in Brazil?

mf and attackers seem set as well

    Fk Borre…. Back

Carrascal should have been on the list for sure as I said in the Sini thread.
But glad to see Yaser back.

Glad the rumor about Tesillo was false.

Would have liked to have seen Solis. That is probably my biggest gripe other than Carrascal.

It will be interesting to see what the manager does about the JArias position.
Will he experiment with Yaser or Carbonero there? Or just go with Portilla or someone more natural central/DFM.

These next two games will tell Lorenzo whether or not he should be called up again.
He will most likely start over Osipina and Montero but you never know. Maybe Nestor goes with one for one game and another for the second game.

Probably not. But he is going with guys he most recently called to continue the cohesion from September more than likely.

Cabal might have been called but he is injured.

Surprised he didnt call Santi Arias. I didn't think he should have been called up last cycle but was happily surprised to see him perform so well in such a high stakes series of games.
