This season will NOT feature wagers on roster moves or All-star picks which were too much of a cluster-frak and I just don't feel like frakkin' with them. Also, no ghoul-type wagers like when will someone pull up injured or be fired; except for the traditional when will the coach get fired wager - and players on other teams (i.e. will Becky be a gimp no-show this season). I thought about head-to-head wagers, just like with the scum and chits last season. Unfortunately, MLS thought it would be better to have us play our (perceived) biggest rivals only twice. The Crew play KCW, NER, RBN and TFC three times and everybody else twice; it would make sense to have head-to-head against someone we play more than twice. Thoughts? Other's being pondered: Status of David Beckham for Saturday 10/04 match Status of coach Sigi Schmid at various points though season will Schelotto be absent/out of more games than he plays average attendance at All-star break, end of season will we have a buck a brat night without a Wednesday will we lose Kati Witham to LA goals Crew forwards vs former Crew forwards final location of new practice facility next major stadium renovation will the Crew get their DP in 2008, or just get ****'ed which Crew player will be revealed as the final cylon which Crew developmental player will leave and sign for FC Byornestvyungnbergendouche next foreign player: German, Polish, Guatemalan, etc... will any former Crew player currently playing overseas return in 2008 to the Crew? Schmid vs. Steve Nicol, belly-bucking, who wins Number of times result of Crew game actually makes local sports report on same night result took place how many TFC hosers will try to frak up the polls this season Comments welcome.
What's with these rumors of losing Katie Witham to LA?! How can the FO expect to be taken seriously when they get rid of their best asset?! What do they think people watch Crew games on TV for?
A suggestion: How about making the earlybird wagers that call for long-term predictions (who's going the have the best goal differential, where will the Crew finish) worth three points each, since they require much wisdom?
More blind faith than wisdom. If anything I might set up the early-bird wagers as 1 point for win, -1 for a loss; nothing wagered nothing lost.
Just an idea: Let's abandon the EPLesque winner-take-all format and adopt a more American Supporter's Shield/MLS Cup/USOC approach. That is, let's have an Early Bird Champion, Season Champion, and Overall Champion and let the fans decide which one is more meaningful.
How many threads get locked this season as a result of TFC idjits. How many newbies troll our forum with their first posts. How many TFC fans get thrown out of the stadium. How many Chicago fans get thrown out of the stadium. (Above poll says "arrested", this one would be simply "thrown out.")
How many oposing fans get beaten with a drumstick for trying to start stuff with a supporters section before getting kicked out by Columbus' finest? (count me in, btw)
I understand. Well if you keep the stats in excel format or something like that I'd be happy to do it.
