Yoro wouldn't be some unproven schmuck. He played 44 games for Lille last season including many in European competition (3rd-class European competition but still). I can't imagine he would've come here only to fight for scrap minutes with a holding midfielder being played out of position, and if he was then he made a brilliant choice to sign in Manchester.

I just don’t want to see Tchouameni being forced to play half of his games at CB, not to mention that he also experienced 2 fractures himself last season. I just feel we will invariably be stretched very thin for large portions of this season.

Tcho will play some games at CB especially till Alaba is back. He looked pretty natural in that position unlike when Casemiro had to play there once or twice in his RM career.

Don't forget Carlo played Tcho at CB ahead of Nacho until Tcho was suspended vs City 2nd leg. Camavinga started as DM in those games. Nacho got back into the line up after that due to convincing performance in the 2nd leg.

Yoro would have played La Liga games, but against City, Bayern etc, Carlo probably would have gone with Tcho as CB like YS said with Cama as DM.

There will be few bus parking lower table teams at the Bernabéu next season. Don't stretch the squad and play Vallejo/Jacobo alongside Rudiger/Militao in couple of those.

I like how the teams basically have cut their physical preparation to a lot of handshakes and a viral dance video and when all those muscular injuries happen across the sport, everybody pretends to be shocked.

It's as simple as that, no matter how highly rated he is, tried and tested winners will play before future promise, i imagine he would have spent most of his time integrating into the team getting some spare mins here and there and absorbing the culture of the team, maybe even learning what it's like to fight and win major trophies

If you mean this present lot , well, i imagine if they were so excellent they wouldn't be running around in the 3rd division of Spanish football like say............ Rauls' Castilla, or mainly on the bench of the first team

The two teams operate differently, it's harder to move from our b team to our first team, one of the reasons being because we are not broke, we can afford to recruit elite talent from all over, right now Farca has no choice but to promote from within, although that seems to be changing, IMO that doesn't make their youngsters "excellent" and ours not,

For me it's just circumstances at the minute, they've had their genuine generation, and we've had ours in the past, i for one am not sold on all the supposed "superkids" that have moved up to their first team in the last few years, no matter the hype

Spain has seen a lot of success with a lot of players that have gone through their youth ranks while we've had a mostly suplementary role. If the tables were turned and we would be providing the national team outfit with so much we'd be proud of it too.

It’s having come through la masia that gives players that extra selling point. They are obviously good players but to some they have a mystique because of the legendary players from Iniesta, Xavi, Messi era.

Since that era I’m not sure who really stands out; Yamal, although it’s still early to say, and possibly Gavi.

Spains success with la masia also comes from the time of Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets. Their Euro squad this year didn’t have many of either Barca or Madrid players, it was quite equal on that front.

Olmo who many consider a key player was born and raised in Barcelona and went through their youth teams. Yamal being another key player.

They still produce the top Spanish players.

The players can potentially play 72 games this season. I see what the fitness staff are doing here, slowing building the physical prep instead of cramming it all in the first few weeks of pre-season.

Maybe we took a different view from last season when Tibo, Militao and Alaba went down with ACL's?

We haven't had a real offseason preseason for years. Arguably, nobody has, which is why all those season ending injuries are so more frequent now. It's not just about the quantity of games, it's that players get pushed into high performance situations right away without having a build up phase.

Haven't had Bernabéu trophy in a while either which was a low intensity pre-season game for the main squad. Two reasons being RM involved in UEFA Super Cup a lot and La Liga starting in mid Augurs while it used to be late August before..

Actually forgotten about the SB trophy.

Although do remember seeing something about asking Al Nasser which would accommodate the send off for Cristiano at the same time under the new SB

Bayern aren't doing the AUDI Cup/Beckenbauer Cup thing anymore either. All their friendlies are cash invitationals just like ours.

Did he lie? Do we want the truth or not? Do we want to know what they actually think or not?

@J-Mezzy this is a perfect example of what we discussed in a different thread. Arda Guler was probably complaining about Brahim and a few others himself lol.

I remember seeing some footage of CA telling Rudiger to come sit next to him on the bench and be his assistant. CA is just on another level, I'm not sure other coaches can get away with what he does and he's not perfect but man am I going to miss him when he eventually leaves.

He's been behaving like a total asshole to be honest. Dude joined them and acts like the director of football, being very public with things that should be kept behind closed doors.
