Right folks. Euro is over and what a glorious summer it has been so far for Madridistas. Due to the Euros we will hardly get a break this summer. Following is the pre season schedule announced so far. 15th July - Players report to Valdebebas. 2 days of tests and initial assessments. Players confirmed for the US tour: Keylor Navas, Casilla, Yáñez, Nacho, Varane, Carvajal, Danilo, Marcelo, Jesé, Isco and Benzema. Players such as Cristiano, Pepe and Kroos have been given vacations till 1st Aug. 18th July - Travel to Montreal. We have chosen to use Montreal as our base for Pre-season. There is some rumor that it could be shifted to Toronto but thats unlikely. This city has been chosen due to its good weather at this time of year. Was recently used by Jose's Chelsea team amongst others. We will train at Montreal Impact's training complex. A friendly with the Impact is also being planned. 27th July - Real Madrid v PSG, Columbus, OH. (International Champions Cup) 30th July - Real Madrid v Chelsea, Ann Arbor, MI. (Intl Champions Cup) 3rd Aug - Real Madrid v Bayern Munich, East Rutherford, NJ (Intl Champions Cup) Return to Madrid 9th August - Real Madrid v Sevilla, Trondheim, Norway. (UEFA Super Cup) Liga fixtures are yet to announced (shocker!!). There might be some slight changes to the itinerary but more or less this will be the pre season. Its going to be a long season for our boys with the extra matches and travel for the CWC and the fact that they haven't had much of a break this summer. Zizou will have to manage their mins well and add depth to the squad where needed. Lets go for the triplete!!!!!!!!!!
I live in Montreal and I hope to be able to attend some signings at least, I hope there is a friendly with the IMpact as well. I also purchased tickets with go see the International Cup in NJ against Bayern.
The Impact's stadium is right across from the Olympic Stadium. With the crowd they would have gotten, I would have expected them to put it in the latter, but I guess real grass > turf. Selfishly, I hope it gets moved down to Toronto.
Usually the Ann Harbor game in Michigan is monstrosity of a spectacle Such a beautiful arena My ex roomie went to watch the man utd game.he said he never saw anything similar Was also the record of the arena
Was there an announcement made already? James is joining the team in Montreal correct? Somebody mentioned seeing that the guys who made the Euro semis were going to be excused but what Ramos, Modric & Vazquez?
Good thread starter Shay. Was going to try and fly out to see the Madrid-Bayern friendly but decided against it because I really don't know who will actually play for us. Will watch it all on tv instead. So as asked above, curious whether Ramos, Vasquez, Modric, Morata and any other signings will travel to the US straightaway or come later?
I'm hoping that since the announcement specifically mentioned the Semis that everyone else will be included. Have tickets to the PSG match and am curious how many of the regulars we'll see.
From what I know James will be reporting to Valdebebas with the rest on the 18th. The guys who played euros semis will join later. Which should mean that Modric, Kovacic and the Spaniards will travel to Montreal with the team. James' injury is such a question mark right now. Don't have any details about that.
Me too. I happen to be in town. I am going with my son and wife. I watched the first galactico in 2003. I bring the same jersey I wore 15 years ago to the US for the game. If you see an Asian male wearing this without siemens logo, that's me.
good call, only watched their final match against Peru and totally spaced on his participation. Still, a pretty long break this summer for him so hopefully he's ready
I'm really contemplating making the 10 hour drive to watch this game in Ann Arbor, I have also heard a lot about the stadium Madrid will be playing in. Really hope I can go, it's been too long since I've seen Madrid play. Last time was vs DC United when Miguel Totress was on the team LOL. It was a lot of fun though so now that is somewhat close to where I live it might actually happen for me.
Marca: Keylor Navas will not risk getting injured by playing in the UEFA Super Cup. Casilla will be starting.
