The game you will not want to miss is the February 23rd game in Santa Clarita, both teams will be playing their 1st team and the cause in itself is worth the drive. All proceeds go to support families that have children diagnosed with cancer. Last years game had over 5400 in attendance and we want to break that record. See you on the 23rd and tickets available at MHF.org

Bah. Too bad the match against DC will be closed to the public. Can anyone give us anymore info on the rest of the friendlies? There seems to be a major lack of information on the Chivas site.

Any info on attending tomorrow's match vs. New York (such as parking, location, etc.)? I'm not a Chivas fan, obviously, but I need my live soccer fix and am seriously considering showing up as a neutral/USMNT supporter. Besides, I picked players from both teams in the BigSoccer USA Draft this year and want to see them in action.

Anyone know if Jonathan Bornstein is training at this point (since he wasn't with the USMNT)?

At this point my interest is in the USMNT, which is why I was asking about Bornstein. After all, I have plenty of reasons to hate the MetroBulls too... and if I hate both teams, it makes me neutral, right? :p

Again, if you take a look at the USA Men forum, in this year's USA Draft, my two left backs are Bornstein (Chivas USA) and Brunner (drafted by New York), which gives me a vested interest in Bornstein having a good season and Brunner getting decent first-team minutes.

Thats not what I heard from a member of the coaching staff today. He told me that we could attend both the Japan and DC matches. Technically, today's match was closed as well but you could walk right in.

Quick thoughts from the scrimmage today vs. RedBulls..The senior squad played the first 45 min, then the reserves took over vs. the RedBulls reserves.

    ---------Harris---Razov--------

    Cunlife-----Marsch------Marko------Klestian

    Flores------Suarez------Curtin------Zotinca

    --------------Guzan------------

    Bench/recovery:
Mendoza, Wicki, Nagamura, Vaughn, Borenstein, Galindo, Thomas, Eskendarian, Hamilton, Burling.

    Goalies:
Eric Reed, Sam Reynolds, Josh Sounders

Guzan: Sharp, commanding the backline keeping players in position. Great to see him back!
Flores: Alright for a forward. Lacked control at times and communication. Who's he passing it to?
Curtin: The guy is big/tall and fast. This is a good signing. "Looks like he's gonna trip over his feet" - Michoacano lol.
Suarez: Did alright. Won alot of balls.
    Zotinca: Looked ok. Same pace.
Cunlife: A few good runs into the box, lacked that finishing powa.
Marsch: Didn't see much. Great to have him back!
Marko: Big talented central mid that can play central D (he played D with the reserves).
Kljestian: Great to have him back.
Harris: I think he had a few runs into the box, but all defended before he could get a proper shot.
Razov: Went around a D and put it to the far right of the keeper. Good finish.
Preki: Mutha ********ing ref! *grumble grumble* LOL

There was only one (IIRCL) clear chance for Redbulls to score with Juan Angel clear at goal, missed wide right.

    Thank you Gly!

Now, from what I was reading on the Chivas website, Saturday's game is going to be at the actual HDC? any of you know details on this?
and if so, will it be open to the public?

I think I can manage to get away for a couple of hours to catch that game!

The senior team took on dc's senior team for the first half. It was a close game with Chivas holding 65% of possession..No goals. The lone goal was scored by our reserves in a little break away crossed over in the box and tapped in.

Moreno played with DC's reserves, he was quiet. There was one good chance for DC's youth team but our trailist keeper made a phenomenal save.

    Some random pics.

Good to see them working up to a full recovery. BTW, is it just me or does Wicky seem disinterested in talking to the media or sticking around to sign autographs with the fans?
