I couldn't find a definitive list of pre-season fixtures anywhere, so my list is cobbled together from quite a few sources.

Game finishes 5-1 to United. A good exercise.

Rooney and Scholes looked razor sharp. Ruud still looked a bit rusty but scored 2 and the second was more like his usual self.

i was dissapointed to see Park on the right, but thats probably due to Ronaldo been injured and Rossi playing, he done some decent pressing and played his part in klebersons goal, won us quite a few throw-ins too, if he had stayed on im sure he would of done better as theres players gave everything to keep the score as low as possible and got tired in the 2nd half.

    Score:
    Clyde 1 - Man Utd 5

    Scorers:
Kleberson, Scholes, Miller, Van Nistelrooy (2), with a McGregor consolation goal.

    Teams:
CLYDE: Cherrie; McGregor, Malone, Higgins, McKeown, McHale, Bryson, O’Donnell, Arbuckle, Hunter, Bouadjr.
Substitutes: Bradley, McGowan, Dick, Hilland, Masterton, Brawley, Hutchinson, Miller. Stirling.

MANCHESTER UNITED (First half): Van der Sar; McShane, Richardson, Pique, Ferdinand, Fletcher, Jones, Kleberson, Rossi, Saha, Park.

MANCHESTER UNITED (Second half): Howard; Bardsley, Eckersley, Smith, O’Shea, Silvestre, Miller, Rooney, Scholes, van Nistelrooy, Giggs.

    Comments:

Van der Sar exerted his influence by shouting and organising the defence. That even involved almost coming to the halfway line to get the defense sorted when we had a corner. Howard was on the pitch for less than 10 minutes before another stupid error almost allowed a Scottish First Division player to walk the ball into the net.

Ferdinand was consistantly abused for the entire first half. It was superb. Pique didn't put a foot wrong and looked very composed. Bardsley had a great second half getting up and down the right-wing.

Jones was caught out a few times, but looked like a great player. Very composed and he controlled the midfield during the first half. Kleberson impressed as well and looked our best player during the time he played. Park looked out of sorts and didn't come into the game. He put the effort in, but the lack of communication showed. Hopefully things will improve over the course of the pre-season.

Saha looked the part by holding up the ball, bringing players into the game and making good runs. Rossi was bundled off the ball a few times but looked an intelligent player. Not quite ready for the first team yet. A loan move would be good. ;) Van Nistelrooy could have had scored a lot more. He pulled one wide, hit the ball straight at the keeper on a few other occassions and then tried to pass it on another. It just seems like he is trying too hard after last season.

He looked fine during the warm-up, but during that I went for a pie and bovril. When I got back I saw him doing some light running on his own. Did he have a knock beforehand, or did he tweak his hamstring? I haven't heard anything else about it. It was a pity for all of the girls who had came to watch him "play".

So I take it Howard did not do well, how long did he play and what was the mistake like?

On another note, looks like things are looking forward for this upcoming year.. hopefully these young players keep improving and Ruud gets back in form.

Yeah, that plus Saha playing an ENTIRE 45mins had me thinking this was some kind of joke.

I tried for the green but must still give it time! :D

Good stuff! I'll get to watch the game tonight. Jones went in with the first group, a great sign!

i thought the 2nd half team was stronger, maybe not in defense but certainly in attack and midfield (except Miller), it would of made the debuts of Van Der Sar and Park look better if they played with the 2nd team.

Good to see the team scoring, and some interesting players got them - sure it's only Clyde, but goals is goals and this is astep in the right direction, at least. Ruud's two shows that he might be getting back to his best, although he did miss a few as well (fingers X'ed); Scholes' goal shows that he can still put them in from midfield; Miller's one at least gives us some hope for him - he'll probably never cut it, but it's not like players haven't taken a season to acclimatise before... and Kleberson's shows that he can be useful to the team, when his nails are correctly filed and not broken.

I'm still dying for us to offload 2 or 3 squaddies though, because as long as they arer there, Fergie is not going to give the lieks of Jones, Richardson, etc their deserved time (Rossi isn't ready for more than 5-8, 20-30 minute appearances next season though, imho - he's just too small still).
