Amass lost his man leading to that goal.

for those who aren't watching don't worry you're not missing much.

we are comfortable but haven't been good. it's just the gap in quality and some luck.

only thing of note has been Diallo.

they just scored, free header so 3-2 now

No. We had extended moments, especially in the first, where we played well.

The score was deceiving. It was a total pre season game. Grain of salt and all that.

i've been less than impressed with this preseason. the results aren't important but i don't really see anything promising from it in terms of fitness or form outside of Diallo.

the quality of the opponents was good so hopefully it is enough prep for the season ahead

I do think Lindelof has 1 foot somewhere else. And the other back at home.

AwB doesn't have a future here.

Nor does Casemiro or Antony, but they likely will have to wait to deal with.

This is a highly fragmented squad on tour, given the euros. That's the case for most teams.

Amass is promising, but possibly not physically ready. It's close call though.

Collyer is probably the most ready to keep around.

From the established seniors, both Mount and Rushford are looking close to ready I reckon.

Maybe @Ruud v.Nistelrooy 10 can find your same apologist bullshit from last preseason too…

    No apologist BS here.

It's ********ing pre season. I wouldn't read too much into it either way.

Why people want to immediately hit the panic button. I would be worried about injuries but am undefeated preseason doesn't mean anything. We have a squad filled with reserves and academy guy plus a few guys who will be sold soon and such. Let's wait til we get a full complement of guys.

Thanks, I didn't watch the game - was photographing the Casper Spuds win the iLB 2024 Championship!

I saw 3-0 and figured it was bad.

    BBC report here.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cq5xx097p3ro

For sure is a pre-season where we have a few players not on tour because of the Euros and some teams that went deep into the Euros hence longer break.

However the “created chances but didnt score” and “conceded soft goals” is a pattern following us from last season.

The biggest concern being that there are no full solutions in the players not on tour - no full backup goal-scoring #9 (Zirkzee is a #10), only one CB in Martinez and no DM #6 replacement for Casemiro (who according to beeb at fault for at least one goal).

After a promising start to transfer we need to get De Ligt, Ugarte and Mazraoui over the line and will be a shame they will have no pre-season with us. Losing Yoro & Hojlund to injury has really hurt us given depth and Will Fish was stretchered off this game.

He talks in that vid about not our best 11 and adds Yoro and Hojlund even though they will miss a big chunk of the start of the season.

This pre-season has mainly been a test of all teams squad depth and is an area we are weak in.

Says we had more shots on target, but I mean is anyone really surprised we arent scoring much when we are playing Rashford at #9 or Sancho false #9 etc :)

More measured review of this game and the pre-season generally.

There is a lot of ground between complacency and panic. Concerns is the right word - lack of goal threat outside Hojlund, Mount bright but no end product, Anthony still sh1te, Maguire not fit, Casemiro defensive lapses etc.

Amad form and Amass / Collyer form highlights. Yoro and Hojlund injuries lowlights.
