Does Dallas have it in them to beat the Rapids? Or better yet, do the Rapids have it in them to beat the Burn?

Los Rapidos: 2 (goals - Beckerman and Hendo)
    Burn: 1

I am willing to trade the playoffs for a series sweep of the Burn...

Dallas lost to Chicago 4-1 tonight. I suggest the Burn regroup, take a few days off and consider the game on Saturday a scrimmage. The meat of your schedule is in front of you. Do not risk pulled muscles or any "sweat" related injuries.

    Probably Starting Line up

Looks like this is what we'll see on Saturday against the Burn.

    GK - Garlick
D - Kotschau, Bourchers, Frasier, Hart
M - Chung, Beckerman, Trembly, Henderson
    F - Spenny & CC

    line up

I can't argue with those starters.
Let's hope they don't get lost in the end zone paint.
    Gooooo Dragon's!
    Rapids- 2 (Spencer, Shmidt)
    Burn- 0
I hope Garlick gets the clean sheet he deserved last week.
    C'mon RAPIDS!!!

Rapids won their last game 4-1

Burn lost their last game 4-1

    Let's keep it right there.

    Rapids 4 Burn 1

(Trembly with the hat trick, Carrieri)

    It worked last week.

Dallas is in serious disarray, and the Rapids are 2-1-1 in their last 4. (Can that be right? ;) ) But it always worries me when you play a team that looks horrible going in to the game. If your team goes in overconfident, they can get spanked. Look at last week with Rapids/NE. The other thing that worries me is that Dallas always seems to play well against us. Yes, we beat them in the playoffs last year, but I'm not sure we outplayed them.

If the Rapids play hard and are not overconfident, I'll go with a 2-1 Rapids victory.

    Not too fast...

Let's not get carried away just yet - remember, the rapids have only gotten it together for one game so far. Yes, they dominated last week, but I'll feel a lot more comfortable after they score some goals for a few weeks in a row, regardless of their opponent. Only one week ago yesterday was the abysmal 0-0 DC United affair.

btw, I think Carrieri is going to win goal of the week for last week's pretty volley, and rightly so...

    GO RAPS!!

The new format for playoffs puts the top four teams in each conference in. So if we sweep the Burn with they way they are going this year, we probably are in the playoffs. Which is kind of a bummer, since I would love the Rapids to rip their big Texan hearts out again with another playoff victory over them.

I'm surprised at how little the Burn have been able to make Dragon Stadium work to their advantage. They play on the fake stuff, which sucks when you're not used to it. They also have a rediculous amount of lines all over the place that I'd think visiting teams would find disorienting.

This week will be a litmus test for the Rapids. We've got a team that has won one less game than the Rapids, and tied one more. They've scored two more goals than the rapids, and given up one less. On paper this looks like an average matchup between bottom dwellers. After last week though the question is whether the Rapids are coming together, or was NE just that much off their game.

If it was just on quality of the goal, then Chris should win. But DC fans seem to stuff the ballots on these polls. If Eski wins, you will know that's what happened.

A teeny tiny part of me actually feels sorry for Burn fans for having to see games at that place. I saw a game on TV that took place there and it looked just awful. It is a deranged, Texas high school stadium right with painted turf right out of "Friday Night Lights."

I would consider playing in a dump like that for two years to get the SSS and complex that Dallas is building.

Whoah...we are still one of the worst teams in the league and we beat a team that we have historically (at least over the last few years) have had some succes against - if we are overconfident (not saying that this is what you are saying), there is a REAL problem with this team.

We will be AT the game at Dragon this saturday - we got tickets first row right behind the Rapids bench, so we'll be able to at least lend some support to them, and hopefully be close enough to heckle the Burn.

This is a chance for us to beat a team we should actually beat - especially since outside the playoffs, they spanked us last year and we should be hungry.

Since Hendo won't be playing, my revised prediction is:
Los Rapidos: 2 (goals - Kyle & Zack)
    Burn: 1

Hopefully I'm wrong, perhaps it's a Nats funk, but I'm going 3-1 Burn.

The defense has to stop the 50/50 balls... Why won't they work it up through the middle....

Back to the Well Deserved Basement

    - Read the below knowing the Burn WERE the worst team in the league
    - Game starts with Rapids unable to pass to their own team
    - Nice run and control by Kingsley to win PK (gets great pass, not sure from who)
    - Hart loses Davis to give away first goal (poor off sides trap?)
    - Horrible give away by Frazier results in easy Kreis goal
    - Seth needs to shut up and play the game
    - Burn are hacking, Kreis could have had red card for bad hack from behind on Fraser
    - But will not happen to Kreis at home, no yellow either
    - Richie's having problem
    - Chung has a good first half
    - Except for a stretch in middle of 1st half, Burn dominates possession
    - Down 2-1 at half, could have been 3-1
    - I thought Nat & Beckerman played well again.
    - Second half showed better possesion and a little more offense but...
    - Rapids still unable to score in the run of play unless, like the Revs, the opponents don't play defense.
    - Time to shake things up
