In the Chivas USA game it was indeed a blown offside call. In the LA match, there was a blown offside call on Emilio's goal, but the decision singled out by the USSF was Geiger's failing to call a penalty.
And that's not even mentioning the other obvious penalty. But who's counting? The way I see it, karma is on our side (not to mention the fact that we don't have to wear puke-green jerseys).
I guess I'd rather have his mistake fresh in his mind. Hopefully if Emilio goes down, he will call it this time.
Which reminds me of a story that isn't exactly on topic... True that, and now I can segue even if I'm not on topic. At a Pearl Jam show in Philly, the second of a two-night stand, Vedder explained between songs that he told everyone the first night to come back early tonight and buy beers because the lines were so long. Then he found out that beers were $8 ("Shit," he said). So the second night he tells us he decided everyone can have a beer on him, to which everyone cheered of course. Then he explains that there's only one problem, and he holds up a couple beers and says he tried but there was two beer limit per person. He hands them down to the front row and says take a sip and pass it on. Long walk, I know, but oh well. It's probably funnier when your buzzed and everyone around you is smoking pot. Anyway, I plan to get my money's worth tomorrow night, and get there early. This will be the first "important" game since the 2004 ECF that I'll be on the quiet side. Hopefully everyone gets a little crazy.
Tyrone Marshall has been ruled out of the game due to injury. Both of Seattle's CBs are out, and backup Taylor Graham is dinged up. http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/soundersfcblog/2009787450_on_the_ground_in_dc.html
The thing is, we're so slow on the attack that I don't know if we really take advantage of situations like this. I was really hoping Evans wouldn't play. He does a lotta work for them.
Sort of makes me want us to start the match with Emilio and Moreno up top, and Pontius and Quaranta on the bench... Why? So midway through the 2nd half, we can bring Tino and Party-boy in to run at a tired defense.
I don't know if anybody has mentioned this or not, but for those of us away from DC and who normally don't get FSC, Dish network is supposed to start a month long free preview of FSC at 5pm MDT, so for a change I can watch the game on a real TV, assuming they do turn it on with 30 minutes to spare before match time. too bad it wasn't earlier, with all of DC's matches lately being on FSC. I can justify DK for ~$5/match, I can't justify $30/month in additional program fees that it'd take for me to get FSC in my programming with dish here's hoping, and hope it helps anybody else on Dish who might have been looking for other ways to watch the game.
Dude. Mookie Blaylock never played for the Sonics. He was, for some unknown reason, Jeff Ament's favorite basketball player when he came in with the Nets. Therein lies the origin of the name. And your comment about Pearl Jam being the only good thing to come out of Seattle tells me: 1) Your musical taste is highly suspect if you don't recognize Soundgarden as the far superior "grunge" band and, 2) You've never had any beer from here. Anything else is purely subjective.
SEATTLE PLASTIC NEVER CHANGES! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NweRE8aeFKQ"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NweRE8aeFKQ[/ame] (Q)- Oftentimes, some of the biggest lies are that which are presented to the public, by the music business today. Like the whole Seattle Scene, the whole grunge rock scene and some of the top band's from that region, who act as if they are the second generation on punk rockers. Many of them are nothing more then poseurs. They're so false, so corporate. In too many cases, it has become nothing more then something created to steal money out of young people's pockets. John Lydon-As I say, they can get the music side sort of worked out, but when it comes to lyrical content, I'm afraid you're dealing with zero. And is very indicative of that entire scene, it's too selfish and is too structured and it's too organized. Think about this in a soccer/fan frame of mind in Mr. Rotten's answer.... ~worm~
Yes, Soungarden (and mudhoney and green river and mother love bone) was indeed a much better band, grunge or not, but the dude said "remotely alive". And while each member of Soundgarden still lives, sadly the band does not Now I have to go listen to my favorite song of theirs, Like Suicide. Best band ever out of Seattle: Queensryche Should be a beautiful night for a United beatdown of the green team.
The only thing grunge about PJ was the city they originated from and that they shared common influences and stages with many of the so called grunge bands. And maybe their clothes. Nothing about their music was, or is, similar to 'grunge' bands. Including the fact that they're still playing it.
That's what fake-ass-punks look like after 2 hrs in front of a mirror. No time for drinking, I've got hair and make-up to do. Also note the ultimate warrior with his horn, what is he 7 yrs old?
I don't care what anyone says, Pearl Jam is a groove band with a mismatched singer. Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Nirvana, Screaming Trees, all superior. IMO, of course.
