Coming off the win against Dallas, the revs are looking good. You can sense the chemistry between Moore, Twellman, and Ralston. SJ is coming off a huge win over LA. Should be a great match. With Moore playing in his first home match, the revs will be fired up and so wont the crowd. Revs win 2-0.

I'm wondering when Brown will be called into camp for the US v Mexico game. The other problem is whether Llamosa can go 100%, with Kante suspended. I say DH will sit.

One hopes the team will desperately want to impress the home-towners after that schlock against Cbus.

Surely they will - it's JMM's triumphant return to Foxborough (take two)!

If Danny apologizes to Steve & the team, I could see him back in the lineup this week.

If Carlos can't play, then Shalrie Joseph will have to play central defense. That is his natural position according to SN.

In 3 games, SJ has only allowed two goals, and one was an own goal. TnT & JMM have their work cut out for them.

Homefield hasn't been kind so far, as MLS home teams are 2-6-7 this year, and one of the 2 wins was in OT. Hopefully we can fix that with a win Saturday....

    Kiss of Death

Jeff Bradley predicted we'll win 2-1 in his latest column on MLSNet.

    We're screwed.

"Joe-Max Moore is probably still a decent call for the Revs, but my gut tells me Player TBA is probably a better bet."

now that sounds pretty interesting. I wonder if his "gut" has any "inside" sources?

Jeff Bradley went 0 for 5 last week. His pick of the Revs is the kiss of death.

Judging from the quality of his predictions (he picked Chacon to get 10 goals this year), I doubt it.

Yeah, but all that means is that he's due to get one right at some point. Who was it in the Mutts front office who made that famous quote about even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then...

I agree, if Llamosa isn't available, that's probably where we'll see Joseph. But I haven't heard anything about Llamosa for awhile. I had thought he'd be ready in Dallas if needed.

I don't see DH being thrown right back in there, partly because I think Joseph has won his spot. He clearly adds size, speed and offensive abilities into the mix that Hernandez doesn't provide.

putting Joseph back in midfield and DH in the center D certainly sends him a message ...

Well, maybe... but the last game I recall where Hernandez played as a centre-back was against Metro last year at the Meadowlands.

To be as fair and objective as I can... it was a poor performance. Maybe it was one-off, but I'm not sure I'd want him on the back-line against a team like San Jose: against Metro he often strayed forward into midfield to defend against counters, and that could kill us when playing against the likes of Lagos and Donovan.

very good point, particularly if DH is disgruntled (of course we all hope he'd still be professional about it)

It sure does - that putting the team in a position to win isn't a top priority.

    Gotta agree.

Seems like that might be a bit of a risky endeavor.
Might be better off pairing Joseph with Llamosa (assuming he can play) in center D and keeping Hernandez (assuming Coach Nicol wants him to play).

Hey I picked Dallas to score 4 vs the revs and it put me in 1st place in the bbs prediction site. The revs are going to be fun this year.

Connolly picked SJ this week though, and he was 0-5 as well. So two kisses of death on opposite sides... expect a tie!

I'll take a tie: Donovan will score one for us, and Onstad will score one for you.

Everyone will go home happy, and we can once again concentrate on our shared hatred of Los Angeles.

I posted this on the SJ forum as well, so sorry for whomever is reading this twice.

Revs fan, where would you suggest I sit (I'm a Quakes fan) at the game this Saturday? I'm going out on a limb here and guessing there isn't a designated section for the away team :)

While I'd love to be in a section with Quakes fans, atmosphere is foremost. Seeing as how:

    A) It'll be raining this weekend and, due to this,
    B) I'll probably be flying solo at this game

I'm wondering if you'd recommend I sit in, or at least near, the Fort. I just can't watch a game in the middle of the "sit on my hands" crowd. I respect not wanting a fan of the other team in your supporter section, but then again, this isn't an LA game (hell, we're former Kraft brothers ;) )

    Thanks,
    Charles

Well, pretty simple in theory: if you have a Category III, General Admission ticket you can sit anywhere. If you know of some E-Quakes fans who will be there, then see if y'all can all get GA tickets, pick your spot and sit together. However, you'd want to get into the stadium a bit earlier if you want a better seat.

Remember, this will be a doubleheader with WUSA, so expect a good number of pre-pubescent girls and soccer moms in attendance, so you might think about that when deciding where to watch the match from.

Joseph is best as a defender (according to Nicol) and Hernandez is clearly best as a midfielder. Switching them as a way of sending a message to DH significantly decreases their chances of winning, IMO.

I already think that DH is in a position of having to win a spot in the starting lineup - I don't think any further message need be delivered.

Regardless of whether he mouthed off to the press, Joseph has siezed the cmid position. Unless Joseph is moved somewhere else, I doubt DH will see the field, unless it's as a sub for Cullen or Joseph.
