I've been trying to figure out a 4-4-2 that would work with this team. This is how I would play it: In my mind that would be pretty compact defensively, but you aren't giving up much skill offensively. From what I've heard, Hall played left back for Dallas. This would be a counter attacking side. You've got two CMs who can launch wingers very well, an incredibly fast left winger, a target forward and a fast shadow striker who can score from further out. You've also got a right winger who destroys fullbacks and can cross well. They'd play compact defensively, then when they win the ball, give it to Frings or Avila. The wingers run forwards, and Frings or Avila send the ball into their path, or send a ball for Koevermans, or send a ball over the top for Lambe.

Kurt Larson's probable starting lineup (he's been at training): Apparently Morgan has lost his spot to Hall already. http://blogs.canoe.ca/reds/
Interesting choice with Morgan at left mid. I'm pretty much done with de Guzman. I'm excited to see what happens here. There are a lot of dynamics in play as we all know. New coach, long break, likely new formation. Let's see how it goes boys!
de guzman will be back after tonight. I think Mariner is just resting him after the Canada games, where, incidently, he was brilliant.
Don't think I'm the first to suggest the notion ; ). I will say we did see good distribution from him in the us wcq. If he can keep that up I'll change my mind.
OK, here's TFC's starting XI: DEATH TO THE 4-3-3! On the bench: Roberts, Aceval, Morgan, de Guzman, Silva, Plata, Soolsma
Two consecutive major ********ups by Dunfield In the first thee minutes less than a minute apart. Great start
TFC looking absolutely terrible in the first 10 minutes. Anselmi looking even more like an absolute idiot.
Sounds like they are singing the Danny Dichio song now. That's nice of them, but it's a little early in the game
And folks, even the radio guy on the pre-match show on FAN 590 asked a good question: Are you fed up with TFC now? But that's for another thread. Feel free to make a new thread on it if you like. Let's stick to the match at hand here.
Serioux is right. If we keep sitting back and playing Preki-ball...sorry, Mariner-ball, we're just inviting their fans to be even more of a factor in the game.
Defense looks worse than ever. Only difference is that we don't have any possession meaning we're under attack even more. SKC should be up 3-0 right now if they had take those chances like five yards ouT
