Before the season started I was thinking 8 or 9 points from the first 8 games (2-3-3 or 2-4-2 record)....but I figured the last 3 would be the toughest of the lot...a combination of good teams and the set in of road fatigue. Now, neither DC or Portland got off to the kind of starts that I expected but I think I saw a few minutes of match last week that DC won, what, 4-nil? Not sure this is the most winnable of the 3....that might be Portland.
35th minute Altidore booked for what looks like a fairly innocuous challenge but it might be for a bunch of little niggly fouls in fairly quick succession
I get the fascination with him....but this was a tap in that even I would not have missed....real work on it done by Osario, Altidore and (especially) Delgado.
the only negative in this match for me was the continuing cheating/lying/moaning of Gio...just wish he would get that out of his game. Late on he got a player booked for an apparant blow to his head.......rolling around holding his head like he had been assaulted...this shows how close the player's arm got to Gio's head
On a day where the Raptors and Blue Jays disappointed so many, at least TFC won. I was worried about how deep they sat. It's probably the way you want to play against SKC, New England, and Montreal. But against a team that's second in the East in GA, I think they could've pressed higher.
Great road performance but made for a pretty brutal game, with the most entertaining moment probably WJ completely losing his shit near the end of the game. DC were bad. Never looked likely to score in that second half. I think we had the ball in their half for most of injury time. We've reached the minimum points expected from the road trip with a chance to earn more against a struggling Portland or Mtl
Was just about to post the same thing. Last year that wasn't part of his game. This year he's doing it pretty frequently and it's totally unnecessary.
I disagree with the notion that is was not part of his game last year.....he spent a good part of last year conning TFC supporters into beleiving he was constantly being fouled...most of the time he was not.
He was constantly being grabbed and kicked last year but he stayed on his feet for the most part. This year he's going down at the slightest knock.
I remember Gio getting plenty of fouls last year - as well as him making us well aware of them and anything close that he could sell.
