Wow. The new poll feature works. Should make the polls better timed for kickoff.

So far, the smilies aren't :poop: !

And in match-related stuff, hopefully the draw last night will be something to build on, but holy smokes, they'd better put a better effort forth than that. They didn't do anything last night!

new to soccer, is it just me or was it weird seeing TFC and Impact both wearing BMO sponsorship. I know TFC has had it for a while, but wasn't sure what Montreal unis were before joining MLS. and it would be weird to have Montreal sport TD for example ;)

anyone else know what other teams that face each other have the same setups? (is it common in soccer / football world?)
just might have looked like an inter-squad game, hehehe

Internacional and Gremio are Porto Alegre, Brazil based teams as well as derby rivals. They share Banrisul as their shirt sponsors. Rangers and Celtic share Tennent's as well.

Losing to Montreal and exiting early sounds a lot better than losing to Vancouver and having them lift a trophy on our turf.

I would live with the later if only because the former was not true.

But I think this team will pull off a win this week only to get hammered by Vancouver.

Whether it's the right thing or not, I'm pretty sure that if we lose to Montreal Wednesday, Winter will be on the next KLM flight to Amsterdam.

You know, I remember in '08 seeing a post-match from Montréal where John Carver was saying that the first thing he did following the most recent league match was sit everyone down in the locker room, and have the Canadian players explain just how much Toronto v. Montréal means in Canada. This was when we were looking ahead to a match against a second division side.

Goddamn, I really miss Carver sometimes.

why wouldn't Saputo itself be the main sponser of the team, ownership and everything considered? I guess Joey likes taking the money BMO is willing to dish out instead of pulling into his own pockets on that one.

Pure business decision I suppose. I wouldn't think there is much benefit in shirt advertising for dairy products...

Though it IS sad that there are no other major companies willing to put some money in the ecosystem.
Hopefully this will change and grow along with the teams success. Anyone know the length of the current deal?

I predict a 1-1 draw that sees Montreal advance.

Man, I used to LOVE week night games. The start to this season is so disappointing, plus the rain moving in, I don't have any desire to go to this game. It's such a depressing situation.

lol dude put yourself in his position, Saputo cheese is worldwide, no need for more advertisement, might as well take $$$$$$$ from BMO instead of using your company and make no $

And tonights gonna be mtl all the way:p
TFC really needs to rethink everything and everyone to do with their team.

    Good Luck Reds :D

Does it always rain on our Wednesday eve. games? I'm beginning to think it does. The only time it didn't was ...the game against L.A. that we played indoors.:D

I know. Even I was surprised by this. I guess his shoulder injury wasn't as bad as was reported.

Eckersley got sent off for a nasty stomp. TFC is still creating opportunities though. De Guzman sent a nice ball chest level to Johnson, who chested it down and got a good shot on goal that Ricketts stopped.
Also Avila has looked very lively so far. Glad to see him getting involved.
