Who: D.C. United @ Houston Dynamo
What: MLS Regular Season Round 19
Where: BBVA Compass Stadium, Houston, TX
When: Sunday, July 15 2012, 9 PM Eastern
    Why: Revenge

Do we start Boskovic and have him come off after about 60 minutes, or do we hope to keep them off the board for the 1st half and bring him on?

I say keep them off the board for the first half and then bring on Bosko. With the crappy heat, you know they haven't been practicing much and haven't had a game in 2 weeks so they are going to be a bit out of shape.

Hey! We already had that baby animal! You're not implying we should repeat our last performance against them, are you? Maybe our first. What was the baby animal in that thread? *goes in search*
    A-ha!

My bad. Maybe we should have a whole new baby animal? Seal of approval for the new owners!

I hope DCU clubs the Dynamo like baby seals.

That seemed like an aggressive image but I thought maybe you were worried about DC United's mentality after all of the time off.

Well done. To further add to the seal of approval, stamp those orange bastards. Or stomp. Both. Whatever. Looking back, Boskovic didn't make an appearance in either game, so I'd definitely like to see him start and see how well we maintain possession and control of the match in the evil burning hell that is Texas.

Well at least with the extreme heat we've been having, it will be cooler in Texas so that will work in their favor, right?

HAHA I was in DC for the week of July 4th, I actually landed at BWI on Friday, June 29 and drove through a small hurricane to get to DC. It was hotter in DC than it was in Houston every day I was there. I mean I felt right at home, but I had no idea that it got that hot and humid some where else!

Oh dear god man, the rain evaporates before it hits the ground in some parts of Texas. That is no exaggeration. DC is mild and pleasant by comparison.

Next time you come up here, leave that crap at home, wouldja? Except on game day. Go somewhere else, like LA. :D

I feel like I've let the community down. I failed to include a baby animal or any jibes at the name of Houston. I created it because I wanted to ask my Boskovic question.

I also wonder if we'll see Dudar start, which I'd like...My only concern with not starting Bosko is that, in games where we aren't able to maintain possession, we have an absolutely horrible showing, and find it hard to get back in it if we go down. I'd rather see us go up early and maintain a lead, which the team has done fairly well this year, knock on pressed fiberboard.

I agree I am in the Dudar-Jakovic partnership camp. Plus if you play Bosko to keep possession, having McDonald hoof long balls all day seems counter-intuitive.

Unless you're a soccer mom. They love it when you kick the ball far in no particular direction.

I propose that we choose something fierce and Indonesian as our baby animal of the week, the ever popular Komodo Dragon. Badass lizard Parthkomodo.jpg

According to wikipedia, which is never wrong as we all know: "As a result of their size, these lizards dominate the ecosystems in which they live.[8] All we need to do is think of MLS as our ecosystem and Houston as prey. Oh, and they live where its hot, so Texas heat should be no problem...

Dominating their ecosystem is a major reason why they are endangered in the few places they remain...

Like having to break up a well performing team with a strong understanding of each other due to salary cap considerations! :D

I believe the range of the saltwater crocodile extends up into Indonesia. There's not a more bad-ass animal on the planet.

I'm not sure what to think about Dudar at this point. His performances early in the season made it seem like he was a very competent defender, except that he seemed to be good for giving away on average one unspeakably bad turnover a game. Then he had some injury trouble. Now...what? Has he not been playing recently because he's not back in game-shape after recovering from his injuries? Or is he out of favor?
