One step closer to a trophy. Will be interesting to see how Dom decides on the lineup with a Sunday match on the horizon too. My hunch is that is it will be a mix. I believe Oduro and Weaver will see time. Broadcast Info TV: TeleFutura, MLSSoccer.com Radio: 790 AM (English), 850 AM (Spanish)
Shame that we didn't get time out of Oduro last night if he was going to be suspended for SuperLiga. Ching was beat by the 70th minute or so yesterday.
I have a really dumb stupid useless boring class I have to go to in Katy that gets out at 7. I'll be driving like crazy to get to the game as soon as I can, but if yall could help me out and play chase with 5* on the field about 15 or 20 minutes I would appreciate it...
Heres my line up Ching-Weaver Palmer Davis-Mullan Mulrooney Chabala-Serioux-Erob-Hainault Hall Subs i think we will see are: Ashe for Davis Obodai for Mulrooney Weaver for Appiah
might see Appiah, Ashe, and Cochrane start in this one...would be surprised to see Davis or Ching at all in this game, maybe as subs...tough call with the Sunday game in Seattle and the suspensions to Oduro, Cruz, and Ngwenya... ..........Weaver........Mullan............ .....................Palmer................... Ashe.................................Appiah ..................Mulrooney................ Chewie...Cochrane...ERob...Hainault ....................Hall.......................
the RC to Palmer so early and the injury to Serioux probably limited the ability to use Oduro...you were definitely not nuts on this one...
This my take. We can start Oduro and Joseph against Seattle but sub Ching just in case. Cruz will be back for Seattle so use Mullan for 90. Play Davis for 60 minutes - conserve both he and Ashe for Seattle. ..........Weaver........Ching (Mullan up top when Appiah comes in) .....................Palmer................... Davis (Ashe)..............................Mullan (Appiah) ..................Obodai................ Chewie...BB.com...Serioux...Hainault ....................Hall...................... ** Have Cameron come in for 30 minutes for SOMEONE in the back. No sense in subbing out Palmer when he is out for Seattle.
Very good news! I bet he gets 20-30 minutes in the SL game. He may not play on the fake grass in Seattle.
Yeah, even though he may be needed more in Seattle with Palmer out, I would be a bit surprised if they ran him out on the fake stuff still coming back from injury. Mulrooney's last game was on that carpet last year.
So that wasn't Ching smartly holding the ball up in the 90th minute and sending a sharp pass to a wide open Hainault that led to the tying goal? Or maybe you think concrete boots Oduro could have pulled that off?
Looks like Oduro could be playing on Thursday: http://blogs.chron.com/soccer/archives/2010/08/shooting_stars.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+houstonchronicle%2Fsoccer+%28Soccer+y+Futbol%29
Refs: Houston vs Morellia REFEREE/ARBITRO: Walter Enrique Quesada (CRC) ASSISTANT REFEREES/ASISTENTES: Osvaldo Luna (CRC); Marvin Ramirez (CRC) FOURTH OFFICIAL/CUARTO OFICIAL: Terry Vaughn (USA)
so the tasteless cliche of "they all look alike" came true?? i know we all hate the refs and every mistake they make is blown out of proportion, but this is a fireable offense. this is less a case of mistaken identity and more a case of lazy ineptitude. the simple act of looking at a players number when booking them, (in this case odoro) would have prevented this embarrassment. absolutely no excuse what so ever for this to happen. none. zero. the appeal must be upheld and we must have odoro available for thursday. and btw, if the mls and the tournaments that it participates in are minor league as jerk solomon suggests, then it's the refs that are keeping it that way.
