Well, a weird time for a game, but it's a rivalry game, and I can't wait. RBNY comes into Foxboro in second place in the East (2 points behind DC with a game in hand), and with a pretty good 4-4-2 record on the road. The Revs, currently in 7th place, are in the midst of a three game home stretch, and really could use three points here. RBNY averaging just under 2 goals a game, and the Revs give up goals, so this could be scary. Revs haven't lost at home to the Metro Bulls since 2002, a stretch of 17 games I believe.
I'm personally just waiting for the Henry "injury" that will keep him out of this one. He's intimidated by Fortress Foxboro and our mighty Turf Monster! Anyway, even if I'm right this won't be an easy game - Cooper has seemingly figured out how to score without Henry, and the defense despite being patchwork has largely pulled it together since the Revs last played them. Hopefully Dane Richards is still out as the Revs always have a big problem with speedy forwards.
Just read a tweet that Dane Richards and Roy Miller got into a heated exchange and had to be restrained by teammates, that has to qualify as good news
I completely LOATH Sunday evening anything! What is being planned/going on at Gillette on Saturday night that this game has to be played on the eve before work?
This is exactly what I was thinking. I just didn't want to say it because I figured I'd get mocked Seriously though. New York games tend to draw solid attendances. Why would they hold the game Sunday when it is a marquee fixture? And yes - the last thing I want to do after a Revs game is wake up for work. Stupid Sunday game.
Rowe OUT with concussion, Shalrie QUESTIONABLE with knee sprain, Moreno and Alston DOUBTFUL. so, here's what i'm thinking: --------Sene----Brettschneider-- Nguyen ------- Benny ------- Guy -----------------Simms------------- Tierney-Soares-McCarthy-Lechner -----------------Reis----------------
I wonder if Cardenas will get the start over Guy. Even though Cardenas does seem to be much more effective as a sub.
it's definitely a possibility but his decision-making is dangerous sometimes. i think we need Guy in there to make smart decisions and help us keep control of the game. Cardenas definitely the first off the bench. however, we may be holding off on Guy still, especially considering he got re-injured last time we rushed him back too soon. also, maybe we see Nyassi's first start/minutes?
Well you mentioned 'smart decisions' ... do you think Nyassi will make smart decisions? I certainly do not. I also don't think Guy or Nyassi will be fit to go 90'.
yeah, no, i wasn't saying that Nyassi would go out there and make smart decisions. i was saying Guy would IMO, as compared to Cardenas. Even if we get 60 out of Guy and then throw Cardenas in, i think that would probably be a good game plan.
The revs should do what they did for the last 10 minutes of the sounders game. Have McCarthy, Soares and Tierney as defenders, Shalrie and Benny as mids and just throw everyone else in the box
Here's my contribution. .............Sene Nguyen..Cardenas...Guy ......Simms...Feilhaber Tierney..Soares..Barnes..Lechner
According to the Gillette Stadium event calendar .... nothing. There's nothing schedule-wise rationalizing this, maybe "Christmas in July" sales at the man mall?
this seems like the most realistic, likely line-up we could see. I for one will be happy to see Guy back in the line-up.
Thanks, makes sense. I take back all the ill thoughts and gestures made towards the Kraft Group...until the next thing.
High of 86, low of 63 with AM showers on Sunday. Should be a warm tailgate, but not too bad. RBNY is bringing over 100.
