With BB.com out - that looks to be the lineup. We will see if it is cohrane or Serioux AND Joseph or Oduro

Cochrane instead of Serioux at the back.

The last time Serioux was at the back (LA away?) was an absolute and unmitigated disaster.

It's gotta be Cochrane and ERob.

i wasnt impressed by obodai, ill rather not see him start.
i do think that hall is our future gk, but i also think that pat can do better right now.. we need points to make the playoffs.. halls time will come.

That's great and all but Pat is out injured so apparently Hall's time is now.

I believe Serioux may want to "welcome" Henry to MLS like he did Beckham.

This is very intriguing game and quite frankly, a must result for Houston if not a must-win.

Must win, yeah. But you know what the result will be. I won't get to make fun of Juan Carlos Osorio, or whoever the new coach is...:(

Season is over for us, Westside. Our boys will have a couple of good games just to make us feel like we have a chance, but I seriously doubt something will improve before 2012.

    2011 will S. U. C. K.

I really liked how Serioux looked during the SL games, thats why i want to see him in there, plus he is big and not afraid to use his body. Plus Cochrane is just bad news.

Even the one and only Downside Cosmo isn't that down. But I'm realistic at this point, just have to gut out this year and work towards a makeover. We aren't that devoid of talent, even though we need to improve in many areas.

Here's the thing about MLS - you don't really get that much of an advantage by sucking and finishing last since expansion teams get the first few picks anyways. There's no MLS lottery like in the NBA. So you might as well hope to make the playoffs and maybe ruin LA's season.

if this happens.. it would totally make up for the season (and last one also.) we dont even have to make or win the final, but eliminating the gals would be so fraking awsome!!!!

Not sure I like the Serioux that came back to us this year, but I agree that he has done much better lately (after his dissapearance). Compared to Cochrane, I'd take ANYBODY.

This is such a weird situation. I'm Houston Dynamo fan through and through but I can't help but think if Henry scores tomorrow that 1) it's good for the league and 2) I'll be able to say I watched a true great play live and score a goal.

Don't get me wrong I want the Dynamo to win, I just have mixed feelings and I'm unsure how I'll react if he scores tomorrow.

    Anyone else thinking about this?

just clap internally, that's what i do. these moral dilemas are more common than you think.

one Nery Castillo of Mexico is about to try to resurrect his career in Chicago. as a Dynamo fan, i can't root for a team that is pushing up from below in the standings but as a Mexico fan i want/need Nery to be successful.

    hey, it happens.

    WHAT?
I've got the opposite question... Am I the only one who plans to heckle HENRY tomorrow? I'm not one to yell obsenities, but I feel it is my duty as a Dynamo fan to do whatever I can to rattle the opposite team players' focus by reminding them of some past mistakes.

I fool myself into thinking that effective heckling can have an effect on players performance, and it helps my team.

Henry may be the best player in the world:rolleyes:, but he is NOT wearing orange, and he has plenty of stuff to remind him of:
    • the timely and effective use of his French hands.
    • his 10 million British Peso divorce (prob not best choice, since he's forgotten about it now that he is dating an even more beautiful woman).

Is it really worth heckling a player? We should all consider how Brian Ching felt when he was being harassed by LA fans.

Look I'm all for booing a hated player, but IMO Henry's handball incident is overblown. It was cheating, but it's not like Ireland was going to do well in the WC.

He's a legend in Europe. We're lucky that out of all the second-rate leagues Henry could have chosen, he chose MLS, and it has improved our reputation as a league.

Like the Beckham games, I'll support Houston but if Beckham or Henry does well I won't complain.

Are you a closet Philadelphian perhaps? This is the same attitude that Eagles fans have toward the Cowboys. "OK we went 6-10, our starting quarterback broke both legs, our star reciever got shot in a strip club and the management traded away our first round draft picks forthenext 14 years. But we beat the Cowboys twice and they missed the playoffs. It was a great year!"

I'm with you on this one! We might not have a great year, but messing up the Galaxy would give me a warm fuzzy feeling about the season.:D

Ja, ja, no problem. That's your opinion, mine is different, and no point in trying to convince each other (we are not JuvelChelsea or one of his many sparring partners:D).

I wish I could remember who posted his/her heckling rules: "no obsenity, no threats, no ilegal stuff, kid-friendly, try to keep it classy and use common sense, but get in their heads..." Was it Brahma? Nigel? Westside? wish I could remember. My self-made rules are similar. And I don't think you have to "boo" a player to get in his head, you just have to remind him of something uncomfortable that may take his mind off the game.
    CHING:
On the other hand, the Ching thing may have crossed the line, but this is the subject of a different thread (you can resurrect it if you wish):

By the way, being a Dynamo fan, my opinion is that the Ching chants were inappropriate and crossed the line!

To this I would add "try to make as many people in your section laugh out loud and/or scratch their heads wondering why they don't get it."

For example, me to Zach Thornton at the Open Cup game (where it was empty enough that he could hear): "Did you really throw Tony Rockyhorror out of a window for giving your wife a foot massage?"

I really want to bring in a "HAND OF FROG" sign. And even before the French cheated the Irish, I hated pretty much everything about France and its socialist crew. And the fact that their tanks only go in reverse.

BTW, are they are expecting a big turnout for this match or is it an overhyped deal with 16,000 in the stands?

I really don't think heckling will accomplish anything. Psychologically, Henry won't be bothered, remember he played in the EPL and LFP (where I'm sure he got his fair share).

Heckling will only give him the impression that Houston is classless city full of angry and hate-filled fans. If you are going to scream at games, yell chants supporting your team (that's what real fans do!).... :)

Oh, I'm also internally split over what to do if he scores. I've been following his career longer than the Dynamo have existed. I wish him the best of luck, and I'm looking forward to seeing him in person!
