The Rowdies were able to grind out a road win. The Strikers, for being in last place, put up a good fight. We came out pretty flat again in the beginning of the second half but Ft. Lauderdale didn't punish us like Atlanta did last week. In the last five minutes we were very lucky not to give up the equalizer. I thought Restrepo looked good in goal. He got hung out to dry on the goal, maybe his defense would have helped him out if he had stayed in the box instead of coming out. Hristov looks good, but doesn't seem to have the nose for goal you would like to see in a forward. Walker didn't have much time to show much coming off the bench and Frimpong was ineffective. No wonder our leading scorer is a midfielder. Mulholland was his usual self: high work rate, clutch goal, he hacked someone to get a yellow, and his golden touch on set pieces just isn't quite right yet. Which is the ONLY reason why they let lumbering Shane Hill take that free kick late in the game. At least put it on frame and make the keeper work. Hill blew the three on one at the end of the first half with his poor touch on his cross. Cox was a ghost tonight. Defense looked pretty solid for most of the match even after having to do some shuffling early in the match. Thought Gafa played really well on the right, although I think our counterattack really missed having Frankie making runs up the right flank.

Fort Lauderdale Strikers’ slump continues with loss to Rowdies http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/04/27/3368999/fort-lauderdale-strikers-slump.html
Of course I am happy with this result, and being in a 3 way tie for first place doesn't hurt. I am concerned with our finishing of games in the 2nd half. We have got to try better. Amani, right now, looks out of place on his team. Why is that? Cox was invisible the whole game as well.
I likewise do admit that he looked better.....until that last match. He looke like his regular, plodding self. Slide Savage into that holding midfield spot. He has better skill on the ball, but plays pretty good defense. Then play Dixon or someone else on the outside.
Would rather Yamada be in the holding midfield/defensive midfield position. But as he is now injured...
That is a good option as well. I forgot about him since he is injured. He attacks well, but gives you that defensive backbone in the center.
