Revs play Chicago on Saturday, the only MLS game on the schedule. Expecting rain/thunder on Saturday, which should help the attendance. Since we're back to the bread and butter of the schedule, the Revs can now focus on winning the MLS Cup. Good news for everyone.
Chicago also coming off an Open Cup loss. A full Cup of bitterness for both sides should make for a feisty match. But if the Revs hope to go anywhere this season, they need to start consistently knocking off these mid- and lower-table teams. Their next three matches certainly represent a softer part of their schedule than they've seen so far. They need to pick up some points here badly. I'm afraid a loss against Chicago could send them into a tailspin.
I remember getting my wolf patch and bear patch. I remember crossing over a log and getting my arrow of light when I was a Webelo.
The proper singularization of "Webelos" is "Webelos Scout" (in fact, the plural is "Webelos Scouts"). Though, I wouldn't expect a man of your age to remember something like that.
Man of my age? when I was in, my den leader was special forces vietnam vet, taught us to kill a man with a rolled up news paper.......I got a badge for that
I figure the Revs need at least 7 points from the next 3 games to remain in playoff contention. Start with Chicago. Mistake-free defense is the key - in the Chicago games I've seen they primarily seem to poach off the other team's errors to score, as opposed to creating their own chances. I want to see Saer Sene score more goals. I want to see Benny get on the scoresheet. I want 3 points please.
Amen brother. I will never hate another team as much as I hate them. Beat by LA/Houston in the finals twice, whatever. Just beat the fire badly, every single time.
It may still be early, but anyone else feel this is a key game? The Revs absolutely have to respond to their two matches in the last few days, and taking 3 points has to be a must. They've already lost the head-to-head against DC, they trail NY and KC in that same category, and essentially trail Houston as well (tying at home, with only a road game to go). A win keeps them within striking range of that 5th spot, a loss drops them 8 points back of Shitcago, and that's definitely not where you want to be past the 1/3 of the season.
Absolutely agreed. Looking over Chicago's roster, I think the Revs are the better team on paper, but that doesn't seem to matter when it comes to the Revs. Chicago seems to have a strong midfield but are weak defensively and up top. It really could go either way. I think Sene is the key player, he needs to convert his scoring chances because Moreno is probably gassed, Runstrom and Diego are injured and well...Blake Brettschneider.
Kyle McCarthy @kylejmccarthy No Guy and no Simms on the field for #revs this morning. Kyle McCarthy @kylejmccarthy #revs coach Jay Heaps said Guy is definitely out and suggested Simms may not play either with bye week approaching.
Simms will definitely be missed [again], but missing Guy isn't a big deal to me. I don't think he's anything special at dmid. I can understand the reluctance to do it on the road, but I'd rather see a more attack-minded central mid partnered with Shalrie at home. I think it's time to toss Rowe back out there and, between he and Bennie, work out amid and wing.
I'd normally agree but Rowe just played 120+ minutes on Tuesday and judging from Feldman sounded absolutely wrecked by the end. We're going to see the same lineup we've seen in the Houston/DC games, there's really no way around it for this one.
