Puyol and Alexis Trained separately from the group as they are still recuperating from their injuries...

Piqué did some training with the group but is also still not fully ready.

In the 57th minute of the game against Sevilla Victor Valdes achieved a new record for himself. The Barça keeper beat his own personal unbeaten record, which now stands at 607 minutes after tonight’s game. Thus Valdes breaks the record he set last season when he kept a clean sheet for 577 minutes.

Valdes has now gone eight league games at home without conceding a goal, matching his previous record between the 1996-97 and 1997-98 seasons. The last player to score against Valdes in the Camp Nou, in a League match, was Corona, for Almeria.

Those are some eye-pleasing stat graphics, VEB!

Welcome to La Liga, Granada, but sad to say you are going to face a very hungry, very motivated road warrior in the form of Barça this week.

The training session just finished, Puyol and Alexis still out and Pique trained with the group. Cuenca, Bartra and Montoya from The B Team trained with the seniors.

I just read that Cuenca and Montoya but not Bartra are on the 19 person squad list.

Here's the full list, Match squad: Valdés, Pinto, Dani Alves, Cesc, Xavi, Villa, Iniesta, Messi, Thiago, Mascherano, Keita, Sergio, Pedro, Maxwell, Adriano, Abidal, Fontàs, Montoya and Isaac Cuenca.

Puyol said to be ready for Mallorca.

I read that Iniesta, Cesc and Messi have not played together since the Villarreal game nearly 2 months ago. Play those three as starters and let Xavi have a little rest?

Just read that Cuenca will be debuting as a starter! I love it (not saying he is a can't miss player but I love Pep giving Masia talents big chances like this).

Here's the full lineup: Barcelona line up (official):
    Valdés,
    Alves, Mascherano, Abidal, Maxwell,
    Sergio, Xavi, Cesc,
    Cuenca, Messi and Pedro.

Barcelona bench: Pinto, Adriano, Fontàs, Thiago, Keita, Iniesta and Villa.

So Montoya to the stands, shame, but since Adriano can cover both fullback spots it makes sense.

They should be resting Messi in the Champions League. Those group games are mostly utterly meaningless since the entire group comes down to the 2 matches against AC Milan.

Messi doesn't like to rest and rarely does in the Pep era, remarkably he is rarely injured since Pep took over too. I read once that Xavi gets to 'take himself out as needed' and it looks like Messi now has that special right with Pep as well. Perhaps Alves and Valdes too?

Pedro has been awful IMO, he has disrupted the flow in a lot of plays.
I would replace him with David Villa or Iniesta, I would also take Alves out as he will not last the full match at this rate without a 2nd yellow, he should be replaced by Adriano. Good options to come off the bench; Villa, Iniesta and Thiago.

Well said, great to have those three offensive players you mentioned at the ready, and not a bad call to pull Alves for Adriano, whom I like even better on the right side. Pedro's first touch seems to have betrayed him lately though I did like his one headed shot off a nice Alves cross.

Hmm.. Pedro looks badly injured there. Red card on Granada in an unrelated incident. Barca should cruise txo 3 points now.
