Does anybody have XL pre-Autoglass kits that they are willing to get rid of?

Ahh, I have one of the blue Coors Light ones with the red crest. It's my favorite though, I can't part with it.

Not to change the topic but what's your FAVORITE Chelsea kit ever?? Along with my Coors Light one, I really like the black on from 2 years ago. Even though I hate Fly Emirates as a sponsor. It just always seems to draw stares/glares in public. I can't wait till we change next year and then all those Arsenal fans can wear that and see how it feels.

While wearing the current shirt, I've had people ask me if I work for Emirates, obviously not realizing that the shirt is a football shirt. I usually just answer no and glare at them.
My favorite of all time is the old Commodore sponsor with the red checks in it-- high class gaudiness!

If you have an old version of EA sports' FIFA96, Chelsea can play in an orange away uniform. I think it was orange and grey with Coors as sponsors. That has been voted (and would be my choice) as ugliest Chelsea kit ever.

Something I was thinking about as I watched Liverpool pummel Arsenal the other day: Arsenal and Man Utd. (with the recent upturn in fortunes in West London) both recently introduced alternative blue away uniforms. I don't know if MU still uses theirs.

If Chelsea ever wear an alternate red away kit, I won't have anything to do with it. I know it's been done once or twice in the past, but the Blues are not the Reds. That said, the red and white checks were interesting. Was there a Croatian influence at the club at that time?

Does subside have the jerseys you are looking for? You've probably tried there, but thought I would mention it anyway.

Won't bother me. I think most people in this country are smart enough to realise that Emirates Airlines, and indeed the United Arab Emirates where they operate, are not infact a Global Terror Organisation.

Obviously I can't speak for the people in your 'hood but it seems a lot of them may be missing vital brain cells...and you know if *I* were in your position glares from strangers would be a good thing. It just lets you know that your a hell of a lot smarter / better educated than they are, and they they will eventually die a slow cold and lonely death. Kinda brings a glow to your heart don't it :D

It's not that they're missing brain cells. I don't think a non-American can understand the depths of which 9/11 has shook our nation to this day. Emirates doesn't fly out of the US (that I know of) or atleast they don't advertise so people don't know what they are. Wearing Fly Emirates on a shirt is just shady looking. I just really looking forward to wearing a shirt next year with Budweiser, Sony, whatever on the front. I would like to get 02 on the front. I really like the look of that logo for some reason. I think it would look better on blue than red.

I'm going on the record as disagreeing with you, eddie, on a few points. I think the main one being that, as sad as this sounds, most people in the US do NOT make the association between Emirates and the UAE or anything other sort of Arab culture. Therein lies that whole point about lost braincells. No one gets it, so no big deal there.

I have lived here in Washington, DC all my life, through September 11th and anthrax attacks and all sorts of other Bush-introduced New World Order-provoked crap, and I have NOT ONE PROBLEM wearing my Chelsea jersey on the street here. And to be honest, no one has ever even given me a dirty look or a second glance, unless they were either a Chelsea supporter themselves or a damn Gooner. ;)

Apologies in advance for the tempered vitriol - but I'm not a huge fan of playing the September 11th card.

I'm not playing the 9/11 card. The fact is that most Americans know that Emirates is an Arabic word. You never get questions like, "What's up with you shirt?" I get it all the time. Then I have to explain it. I absolutely believe that Americans make the connection between Emirates and Arabic. Then adding the word Fly before it, needless to say it usually raises questions.

Like I said, I'm not playing the 9/11 card. I'd have no reason to. I am just giving what I have from my own experiences.

I fear then that South Street isn't half as hip as i thought it was. ;)

In all seriousness though, I really haven't gotten one word or nasty stare from anyone, and believe me, I wear my jersey a lot! Even when I visit NYC, not a word. Though, maybe this is more of the "September 11th-Affected Blue State" phenomenon - where the cities and areas most affected directly by the terrorist attacks were least supportive of President Bush - and not showing a decidedly anti-Arab sentiment either. I don't know, but it's an interesting contrast.

Well, I live in Philly and spend half of my weekends in NYC (my fiance lives there, she moved up there last year and I will be following in 2006) and I get it (not a lot but occassionally). I know I'm not the only one. I've talk to some of my fellow Philly Blues and some of the NY Blues and each had had the occassional similar experience.

You don't think that Arabs as a whole are thought of poorly or frowned upon in the US these days? I only ask because you response makes it seem as though you don't think there is any bias against Arabs these days and I disagree.

Granted, and you and CFC make some compeling points. I think I understand a little better now, but surely everyone can SEE its a sporting jersey of some description, even if theve never seen a football match in their lives?

I can't speak for the rest of the country, only my city (which is very liberal) and NYC (which is also liberal, even more so if you don't wander far from the East Village). I think that is why my view may seem skewed to you, and it probably is, I'm not around a lot of "heartland" type people, if that makes sense? To bring it back to Chels - I fear I wear my Blue-tinted glasses a bit too much. :D

Heh, and as for your South Street comment, well, I'm a bit of a crusty-punker/slightly modgirl/in some circles, hipster (bleh), so it's really my cup of tea up there. Yuppie scum doesn't sound like my type of 'hood. ;)

Exactly! You would think the name and number on the back MIGHT tip people off. Sadly, most Americans who aren't familiar with football see myDuff jersey and wonder where I got a Simpsons shirt. :p

I've had people yell after me "Duffman! Oooooooh yeeeeah!". That's about it. :)

There is nothing, nothing at all, wrong with yuppie scum. Er, yuppies. We're not scum.
As for the Emirates kit, I've never had a problem in NYC, except for the two people who got mad at me for not acknowledging their "Chelsea!" shouts because I had my iPod too loud to hear them.

Pffft. Who do you think all those people in Diesels and Kenneth Cole in the East Village are? Yuppies out of uniform. ;) :D

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that!

Haha! Awright awright... how about the Park Slope hipsters? :D

Oh no no, don't get me wrong, I enjoy educating the Simpsons fans on the BEST DUFFMAN EVER. ;)

I HATE the Williamsburg too good for Starbucks drinking awful Pabst Blue Ribbon crowd. Hate them hate them hate them. They're bigger poseurs than any yuppies I know. I also refuse to believe that there's anything there that's more interesting than the village, east or west.

Its Pabst Blue Ribbon people. Pabst Blue ********ing Ribbon! For years, it was the beer to make fun of! We all make fun of haggis, is it cool to eat that now too? Morons.

Lets hope we never hear "Duffman can't breathe. Oh NO!" then. :D
