Well, who is going to win it this year? Ruud, Henry? Zola?

LONDON, April 16 (Reuters) - Thierry Henry, Ruud van Nistelrooy, James Beattie and Alan Shearer - the four highest scorers in the English premier league - are on a six-man shortlist for this year's PFA Player of the Year award.

Manchester United's van Nistelrooy pipped Arsenal's Henry to last year's award, which is organised by the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) and voted for by their fellow professionals. Newcastle United's Shearer won the award in 1995 and 1997.

Chelsea's Gianfranco Zola and Paul Scholes of Manchester United make up the 2003 list.

is the PFA award for the premiership (and lower divs) only? if so, Beattie is the best scorer in the EPL so far.
RVN has the most goals total thus far, but a lot of them have come in Europe.

very tough to call. Zola amazes me with his endurance and skill.

Henry first, Ruud second, Beattie third, Zola fourth, Shearer fifth. IMHO.

    I'm changing my vote.

It's clearly a two horse race, and you know who that favours.... :D

It should be Beattie. Anyone who can top the Premiership scoring charts at Southampton, ahead of Tezza Hezza and Shergar at Arsenal and United respectively, has had the best year of them all. Inarguable.

Sadly, these things have little or nothing to do with actual achievement.
