Great game by the Power by beating the rays for the 2nd time in Power history. although most of the play was pretty much in NY's end, when we got the ball in SJs end, we put it in. the rays were all over us, and our defense really held on tight. first win without milbrett! yeaaa. saskia played awesome with some amazing saves. i can see her confidence is back along with the confidence of the experieced defenders infront of her.

oh yea... we are now in a 3-way tie with atlana and washington for 2nd place!!! i love hearing that!

Great game! The field conditions were horrible though. There were puddles everywhere. There was one bog in front of where I was sitting that, during one play there, looked like a flock of birds in a birdbath!! Water went flying everywhere. It was actually rather funny watching them slipping and sliding all over the place. I was worried about someone getting hurt and they did cart Kelly Lindsey off the field. Felt bad for her.

The skies just OPENED here around 4pm. Bad thunder and lightning too. It was so bad that it knocked out the sattelite signal right in the middle of the of the first half of the Pax game. It was out for about 20 minutes too. Boy, was I mad!

Saskia made some great saves. I was happy for Janssie, with her second goal in 3 games. Welshie's two goals were sweet too. :) She just laid there for a minute after the second one.

The preseason draft deal we made is looking better and better all the time. Wagner may be on the National team, but Welsh has definitely made a lot more of an impact in the WUSA. And on top of that, we got Boxx - who's been terrific - and Smolak and Tietjen who are solid. Yeah, I'd say we got the better end of that deal. :D

It's also nice being tied for 2nd. However, Atlanta has a game in hand and Washington has two. hmmmmmm...

No desire to analyze the game right now. Too tired. Just finished watching the Nat team game and some of this one. I'm going to bed now.

Now I understand that there were a lot of groups at the game but I hope that this attendance was not a fluke. New York can be a great team. If they can score 3 goals without the top striker in the world(it's debatable at the moment) then they are a great team. Go Power! Let's get more people on this board.

Looks like the Power defense is starting to gel, although it may be that it's easy to look good against San Jose's anemic attack. Man, I love Shannon Boxx! It's great to see NY with players who have some bite this year. Now if they could just get somebody else in place of Rapp. By the way, if she'd scored on that goalkeeper injury, man would that be embarassing.

"Red, Bayonne, NJ: Hey Millie. Who do you think is the most underrated player in the WUSA?

Tiffeny Milbrett: Shannon Boxx. From the NY Power of course. She made the All-Star team (well deservedly) so there's somebody paying attention to her talent"

    Quote of the day
“I’m feeling great. I think going away for me and Pearcie, we were nervous because we know our team needs us. To come home knowing that the Power had a solid win against San Jose is a very good feeling. It just makes me very proud to know we have a good team now.” – Tiffeny Milbrett on how she feels about the 5-5-1 New York Power at the midway point of the season. Last weekend while she and Christie Pearce were with the U.S. national team, New York defeated San Jose, 3-1.
