looks like Gao won't be back....I think Williams needs to be promoted to active roster and stop screwing her over by putting her on reserves or cutting her.

Smo is a decent keeper....still don't think she is worth a draft pick too!

You guys gave up a third rounder. Is there actually gonna be anything of quality after the first round?

Go back to the 2002 draft...how many 1st, 2nd, 3rd rounders actually made an impact on their team outside of Slaton, Abby and Kluegs? Charge fans will tell you that Tullock was a great addition to their team........

Everytime I come online I get scared to check this board. The next thing we know, Tiff will be in SD.

I feel the same way about Williams. Why not give the girl a damn chance?? She had a couple of very good outtings this past season and would probably develop pretty well if given the chance.

It does look like Gao won't be coming back and that makes me sad. Gao and Gro were "my girls" the first season. It's a shame that injuries forced them both out. :(

Sure looks like the offseason will be as "interesting" as the actual season coming up...

The thing about theses trades and drafts is we don't know if there are any "invisible" agreements between teams. That's why I suggested in another thread that there may be something more to SD and NY flip-flopping draft picks. On WNBA draft day the Portland Fire took Nikki Teasely then immediately traded her to the Sparks for Ukari Figgs plus another pick. It was obvious they set it up ahead of time. For the fans it's really confusing.

I wonder if this was some completion of the wagner deal, with kester going back cuz she didnt want to cross coasts, maybe?

Good trade...this makes the wagner deal MUCH more benificial to the power...now the power MUST rid the world of webber and promote Nikki Williams as the backup. If they do that THEN the wagner deal becomes very good for the power.

3rd rounders barely make reserves in most cases...this also changes the complexion of the power draft...no more dodging for solo in round 2 or trying to trade with philly for the #7 pick, which means they could scout for a little known mid or D with the 9 pick.

Smolak was a solid goalie with the spirit, pags had more of the name but was very inconsistant.

I think smolak disirves a chance to start...certainly better than webber, id say a training camp horserace between her and nikki williams for the starting job. and if sermanni thinks both arent ready, then you still have the chance solo will be on the board with the 9

and NO i dont think sermanni is done yet by a long shot.

I was kinda hoping Gao would be back next season too. :( That's too bad...

I hope Smo or Williams take over Saskia's spot SOON! They haven't really given Nicole a freakin' chance. But I think her and Smo will be good.

So... I wonder what's gonna happen next?? Bye bye Millie? I hope not!!

Smo is a very good keeper.. watched her at Stanford for a few years.. now we got to Stanford Cardinal reunited *too bad Jenno isn't on the team anymore :(*

I highly doubt Tommy would send Millie to SD.. Tommy is an excellent guy.. not some crackhead.. lol he wouldn't do something like that.. at least I don't think so.. :) I miss him..

    You da.....!!!!!!!!!!!

Who the???? Oh wait!! That's something else....:D

Grrrrr.......You guys get Smo!! There goes her surfing!!! That's the one trade that I'm not at all happy with. Geez, one minute we have Kester, then we don't, now we do again!! Didn't someone say she wasn't happy being on the west coast? Did she even get a number for the 5 minutes that she was a Power Player?

    what?? YOU da....!!!!!!!!!!!

    Oh no.... not that... LOL!

Kester didn't play in the game they had in Wilton. So I guess she wasn't really part of the team yet... does anyone know if she was even in NY already?? The team has been practicing for a little while now.

That was Jen Lalor who wasn't happy on the east coast. She's a total So. Cal girl. I don't know about Kester though.

    Re: You da.....!!!!!!!!!!!

whadda mean...Mitchell field is 10 mins from Jones Beach, the best beach the Atlantic can offer!!!

I think kester never left SD, and basically said ill quit if i cross the coast, NY saw they could get some return for a nominal fee of a 3rd rounder and sent her back and got a goalie who was more needed than kester was.

this makes the wagner deal a helluva lot better...now to get one of philly's 264978327897345 midfielders and you start to look alot better...as a power fan you gotta cut your emotional ties and hope for the best players for the best return...80% of last year's roster shouldnt make a WUSA roster.

id also like to see how well whalen is progressing, will she be able to add to the midfield next season or not.

now is the time that will make the season for the power...and so far they are doing a fair job.

oh wooohooo the east coast waves are nothing compared to the west coast waves. I've lived and surfed (attempted on the east coast) on both. west coast waves are AWESOME compared to east coast.

Yup... that's true. Hardly anyone surfs on the east coast... people may try, but its nothing like Cali. There's plenty of other things Smo can do though. :)

You MUST be joking. The entire team is being built around Millie. Why would they even think about trading her? Millie is so at the height of her game I don't even think they would trade her for Mia right now! Just remember who just about single-handedly carried this team all season, so much so that she needed a break! In fact, the team should be called "The N.Y. Millies!"

Gao couldn't get it together after her injury. Better off with out her. I would have prefered Suri Mulinex, or Kelly LaBlanc.

Gao is one of the best keepers in the world she needed to be given a chance to get back to her spot. and it is Siri Mullinix and Karina LeBlanc, but Tracy Ducar was the goalkeeper from boston coming back from injury this past season.

Sorry, but I was in a rush. Anyway Karina, prefers Kelly. I just had dinner with her two weeks ago.
