It was announced today that the New York Power have had an allegation of cheating levelled against them by San Diego in the recent 2-0 defeat at Mitchel Field. San Diego, disappointed by the low scoreline feel disadvantaged as due to the high level of parity in the league, the lessened goal differential that they achieved in beating New York may adversely impact their playoff hopes towards the end of the season. The allegation hinges around the New York Power secretly replacing Emily Janss with Premiership Powerhouse and English International Emile (Emily) Heskey. Janss, female, white, blonde, 4 feet 11 inches and about 40 lbs can easily be mistaken for the English superstar, at 6 feet 2 inches, male, black and 250lbs. "This accusation is ridiculous" said Power GM Mary Susanoff "we'd never stoop so low as to upgrade our midfield." However, officials in Liverpool, home of Emily Heskey confirmed the loan deal. "We have upcoming games agains Manchester Utd and Arsenal" they said. "It would be good if Emile got some experience playing against a bunch of girls." Video evidence from the game studied by this reporter has proven to be inconclusive. Such is the importance of the case that the San Diego Spirit have called in an FBI forensics team to examine traces of DNA found on the field. Agents Scaly and Mouldy initially declined comment, but when pressed further revealed that they had found some 'promising' evidence. A later DNA check showed the material to be a piece of moss. "It's amazing the genetic similarity between a soggy piece of moss and the average soccer player" commented Mouldy.
