Okay, I've got my ballot for NWSL Player of the Month for July and am open to feedback. The ballot includes a nomination from each team, as listed below, though there's no requirement to stick to this list:

    Breakers: Alyssa Naeher
    Red Stars: Karina LeBlanc
    Dash: Kealia Ohai
    FCKC: Sarah Hagen
    Thorns: Verónica Boquete
    Reign: Kim Little
    Sky Blue: Nadia Nadim
    Spirit: Lisa De Vanna
    Flash: Carli Lloyd

All three good suggestions. I'm sort of inclined to go with O'Hara, who has resurrected herself.

Or Nadim has resurrected her...5 goals for O'Hara since Nadim showed up.

This is my deepest regret this entire season, why SBFC didn't make the effort to get a forward. One of the traits that endear me to SBFC is that they are a team that rarely defeat themselves. If SBFC loses a game, it's because the other team was the better side on that day. At the beginning of the season, everyone and their mother could see that they needed a forward to be competitive but yet and still JG did nothing. Boston was in the same position after Leroux left and they went out and drafted 145689 forwards and struck gold with Reeves and Ezurike.
Looking at how SBFC is playing right now and all you can say is, a little too late.

As for player of the month, I nominate Ashlyn Harris. Her decisions at times may be questionable but in a month were all the games for the spirit have been life or death, she have kept them in all games. The game against WNY, Portland and FCKC comes to mind.

I think a problem with PotM is people have short memories...I know I do...and only really what happened at the end of the month :)

They drafted Maya Hayes with their first round pick and signed Nanase Kiryu.

Who vote for these awards anyway? Media? Fans? Coaches?

    What is the break down?

Lol, and they are the ones complaining that someone other than Little should have one?

This just underscores the fact that media figures that cover the women's game do not even pay that much attention to the game.

Is this POTM, or a contest to see how much the media can kiss Kim Little's ass? I had no problem with her winning in April and May, but for this month, there is no way she deserved it over Boquete or Nadim.

Well it will be interesting to say the least to see how the voting went.

Who wants to start a petition for that?

Don't get me wrong, it's dumb that KL won it for a third time, but of the players you could mention Boquete didn't deserve it over KL. I'd have gone with Nadim or O'Hara for helping SB to 2 wins in 4 games.

Well they swoon every time Vero dances back and worth so that counters any Littlemania. But again, Naho got the PotW twice in the month of July. How many weeks can there possibly be in July to overcome that? ;)

That's debatable really. What she lacks in size she makes up in heart.
Have John Cena ever won wrestler of the month 3/4 months? Me thinks not.

The only think that beats Littlemania is Portlandia

I've been watching Portlandia for 20 years. She has no left.

Hey Clive, what say we sneak up in the middle of the night and move Portlandia over to Providence Park? Next best thing to the Statue of Liberty.

    (1904)

The original watercourse that drains that side of town , Tanner Creek, runs in a conduit directly under the new stands on the East side ( near, in the photo) of the stadium.

The only folks who were ever able to make the place work were Chinese farmers who grew vegetables there that supplied most of the produce for Portland in the 1880's

    They grew rice.
