The state grant of $4 million won't be released until things are more stable. Kerfoot has been trying to build a stadium in Vancouver for the past 5 years using 100% of his own money on his own land and it got nowhere. Maybe he should change gear and invest in Rochester. The Rhinos ownerships are looking for new investor and Kerfoot might be the perfect candidate if he decided to throw in the towel in his quest for a stadium in Vancouver. It doesn't have to be Kerfoot. Any wealthy individual who want a MLS team in Rochester would do. PAETEC PARK Capacity: 13,768 (expandable to 20,000) Cost: $33 mil (state/city: $23 mil, owner: $10 mil)
Re: Idea: Kerfoot teams up with Rochester for MLS i don't really understand the connection here. Rochester isn't in MLS. So Kerfoot getting involved in Rochester in no way helps him get into MLS. Secondly, he's a Canadian and a strong supporter of Vancouver soccer and the Canadian Women's soccer team. He has no connection to Rochester at all, and he already has a USL team, so not sure why he'd want to be involved for those reasons. Unless he wants to buy the stadium and move it to Vancouver
Re: Idea: Kerfoot teams up with Rochester for MLS If the MLS gives the heads up to Rochester. Where would you expand Paetec Park?
Re: Idea: Kerfoot teams up with Rochester for MLS doesn't make sense to me. you find the right location for your team, then try and get a stadium built, not find a stadium that needs a team, and hope it all works out.
Re: Idea: Kerfoot teams up with Rochester for MLS Mods, please remove "Kerfoot" from the thread title.
Re: Idea: Kerfoot teams up with Rochester for MLS If they had the money, the stadium was designed so that a 2nd upper deck could be easily added. After that, then you would have to look to the open end of the stadium for the next phase of expansion. After that is when it would get tricky.
http://www.soccersam.com/news/weise/ And for the record, I'm betting on Daniel Williams being the mystery investor.
http://www.democratandchronicle.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080206/SPORTS05/80206022 name stays, though I wouldn't mind if he dropped the 'raging' part.
