Liam, if you see fit, you might add these to the info thread: Also, the jersey image links seem to be broken at the moment. Overhead Map of Naperville The red marked parking lot is a municipal lot. During town business hours, there are parking restrictions in effect. On weekends, this is generally not a problem, but pay attention to the signs. The yellow marked lot is a three level parking structure. The first level entrance is from Chicago, and is TWO HOUR parking. The second and third levels can be entered from the North side of the structure (Jefferson or Jackson, I forget). The third level is largely untimed, but some areas are restricted for vendors who have parking passes. Once again, pay attention to signs. Saturday Aurora to Chicago train schedule Saturday Chicago to Aurora train schedule
I'm working on making sure it's got new info and tidied up for the opener. Also, SF info will be added as it arrives.
In addition to Jim's newspaper contact list, I used to have links to various sites, including official sites, fan sites, and gear sites. However, I never saved it and it was lost twice during the crashes and I have no energy to do it again. If someone else want to put something together, post it here and we'll add it to the thread. Also, we need to add Parking info for the games.
Well, I considered circling the free downtown lots on that overhead map of naperville, but I'm not sure how the front office would feel about us compromising their parking revenue stream. They're easy to identify though, one is right on the other side of Chicago from the stadium (entrance from the north side to the second and third levels), one is on the West side of Washington, south of the River, behind the Town Hall (or whatever that is). There are other lots, but they are generally three hour or less parking. They're more intended for restaurant patrons and riverwalk types, but if you arrive late and leave early for games, they could be for you. Details of downtown parking are available on the official website of Naperville: http://www.naperville.il.us/dynamic_template.cfm?doc_id=282 As far as I know, parking is the same arrangement as last year for pay lots: Lucent lots are north of Route 88 just off of Naperville Rd, another is on the north side of Aurora Ave (ends near the Burger King on Washington). I think the final lot is at Naperville High, which I think is on the south side of Aurora Ave, near the other lot, but further east. Pay lot shuttle busses from the Lucent lot run to the north side of Chicago ave, east of the free parking structure. Busses to the other lots leave from the east side of Washington, take the footbridge across the river from the stadium and head south until you see all the people.
Pssh. I still can't believe they wanted to make us pay for $100 parking 3 blocks further away than a free covered parking garage. And the Fire doesn't own these boards. And we're leaving Naperville this season anyhow. Circle away.
The street to the north of the parking structure is Jefferson. (Jackson dead ends going east-bound at Washinton - it's the street just north of Jimmy's). The other big parking structure (also city owned - read free) is the block long white building a half block west of Washington and between one and two blocks north of Jefferson. For the street name inclined it is between Van Buren (one block north of Jefferson) and Benton (two blocks north of Jefferson).
Re: Re: Potential additions to Information Thread I'm showing that as a three hour lot here. I could be wrong though.
P.S. The parking srtucture between Van Buren and Benton has entrances/exits from/to both streets and is multi-level (at least two - I think more likely three).
This is a closer-zoomed map I worked up a while ago that I intended to show tailgate sites and determine the section 8 parade route with...dunno if it's useful but here it is.
