Indiana, still being illegal AF, is cheap. That is, so long as you have a dispensary owner in CA who gives you wholesale for a little legal advice here and there. At least that's what a buddy told me.
During summers I used to work at an outdoor concert venue called Pine Knob, that was so obviously covered in weed smoke (Since 1972) that you'd have better luck boiling the ocean. Now? They have a partnership with a local dispensary and even have a space there. I don't think they sell weed but plenty of other stuff. Detroit City FC partnered with a dispensary a few years ago. Pleasantrees. Always loved the name.
And Pennsylvania and Indiana. For me, the best always was William Wordsworth's hometown, and that's from a guy who's been to Dildo and has family in Beaver.
There’s one here too. Great hike! Also, its northeast-facing side has claimed the lives of several back country skiers, including a friend’s uncle.
https://www.kentucky.com/news/business/article307948565.html The bourbon industry is in trouble. The three factors are Ozempic, the decline of drinking among young adults, and legalized marijuana. I suspect the last two are functionally the same reason. So, legalized weed has led to folks finding a cheaper, less unhealthy way to bliss out. Good.
This is win-win. Hopefully the glut of bourbon results in lower prices, better availability, and better product that was made a decade ago based on over-optimistic forecasts.
As much as I like a good drink, if you’ve ever worked in a setting where alcohol is served, you know how problematic some people get. Not to mention, the effects of alcoholism. I learned that at a young age working at an arena. People I’d see who drank too much vomiting in the parking lot, angry drunks, people who lose inhibitions, the list is endless. At least with someone who is stoned, they’re chill. I’ve never met someone who was angry while high. And most of the time they’re just chill and giggly. I did have some beers over the weekend, but it was my first drink in a long time.
